To be honest food wise plated up you would not tell the difference between the burgers here and under the previous two ownerships.

Taste wise new ownerships gets first spot for me. Previous owner 3rd (needed to be warmer), prior to that second place (over salted). Though it should noted across the three all were decent and with only 5 visits from it is hardly comparable data :)

I only knew it under the long standing previous tenant and the guy who had it after, how many have been there? Because I could tell a mile off the difference between those two both visually and taste wise. I used to be a very regular visitor, I went once under the new guy and refused to return. So if you are saying the food in the last three tenancies has been similar then there are three possibilities:

1. If the last three ownerships do not include the long standing one, then it has got no better and I shall not return.
2. If the last three ownerships do include the longstanding one then you are talking shit as there was a massive difference.
3. If there have been more than three in since the longstanding tenant then maybe it is better than the shit I was served?

How many have they had?

I make it

1. The long standing tenant
2. JD
3. Temporary manager
4. New tenant

I can only put a name to 1., but he then can do that himself.

I absolutely love how this post is so similar to reading philosophy texts during my university days. So thorough, considered and sure to cover all accusations against it. Bravo

By that list, and by Gareths post, it means the food now is as good as when it was JDs? That would be option 1 then, I'll await further reviews before I venture in again.

Its just a bloody burger guys.
Then you may as well go to McDonalds?

I don't eat out much, maybe twice a month, so when I do I like to get something better than I generally have at home (or at least that I can cook!). I actually usually avoided the burgers, I loved the chicken tenders and the chilli cheese fries, but the burgers were incredible too. On the rare occasions I go out with my step dad we always ate here, we've not been back since though as we now have better options. Complete change of food but Ayo Gorkhali is my most visited place lately, I need to start getting tables at the college more frequently too.

I like a burger, I enjoy a burger. But I dont have strong feelings on the quality of a burger. Unless its a vege burger and that my friend will get us squaring up. I like my burger made from tits to teeth animal.

Oh but it is.

Then a curry is just a curry, so why have multiple restaurants? A shirt is just a shirt, why have so many shops? Why don't we all just have a set uniform, be a lot easier!

People like a range of options, from gourmet to roadside cafe, but when a place the equivalent of roadside cafe expects gourmet prices something is wrong. The last time I visited the food was edible, it wasn't amazing. If it had been half the price I probably wouldn't have minded, I'd still look elsewhere for a decent meal but I'd have visited there if I just needed calories. Dropping the quality while maintaining the price is a surefire way to lose customers.

I understand that the new licensee is Ben Richards and he starts at the pub next Monday. It is possible that the list above should be amended to include 3a, another temporary manager in the pub for a week or so.

The 6oz with cheese at the Star Cafe in Eccy is top notch. Not as imaginative as the previous excellent offerings of the Market Vaults, just a quality burger at a good price.
Various 'gourmet' burgers also available.
