i could have been worse , a lot worse .... the Mrs is waiting for her garden furniture to be delivered :P
This was heat resistant glass, but even that couldn't have survived that fire. It's only resistant up to 400 C. This was the extra special, super dooper expensive stuff that was sent via this carrier specially to get it there safely. . The rest of the order went the usual way and got there safe

Glad son had a tick in the box on his Conveyancers portal to say they had received all his paperwork and signed mortgage deeds ok today. Spent hours filling in the latest pages of paper work, signing , getting it witnessed etc etc and posting it off to them in Cardiff . Would have been a bit of a nightmare if the Royal Mail lorry had failed to deliver for some reason.

(Much easier for him when he can fill in their on-line forms, but these had to be in wet ink)

Just rung my Doctors (Mill Bank) And I've managed get an appointnment for this evening. I'd do a happy dance if it wouldn't kill me. Wasn't till I told her I was coughing so hard I was making myself sick that I got that appointment.
Got in to see the Dr. I have a chest infection, which I'd guessed. He's prescribed me antibiotice for 5 days, and told me to buy a bottle of Original Night Nurse (Other cough mixtures are available), because I need drying up! OoooerMrs!!
If it helps me sleep at night, I'll be getting 2 bottles.

Love a bottle of Night Nurse, but don't take it if you are working the next day - last time I didI felt like I was completely pissed throughout the whole of the day (sometimes that's not a bad thing though!).

Wet ink

It's the future

Wink
I've never heard a biro called that before, they were the lawyers words (hoping he meant a biro)......hope he doesn't mean the old ink well and pointy pen thing to dip into it like we used to have at school, along with blotting paper to soak up all the wet ink (both off the paper and the trail across the desk )

He's told me not to attempt to drive whilst on it.
Why didn't any of you warn me how foul the stuff tastes?

Just spent part of the afternoon running up a 20 year old computer with Windows 98. Reason I've still got it is that the motherboard has ISA slots (this was pre PCI slots) and I have an old Winradio Card that needs ISA. I found another hard drive with Windows 2000 Pro on it and after a bit of fiddling got the Windradio card to work. Winradio is an HF (short wave) radio receiver useful for just mooching about or HAM work. Both 98 and 2000 wouldn't suck the Internet as the old version of Internet Explorer couldn't cope. Fortunately I found an 'oldfarts APPs' website where I could download an early version of Firefox, which went in ok on both 98 and 2000. Works fine but the odd website confuses it.
Can't ask too much of it, Pentium 3, 550mHz maxxed out with 512 mBytes of RAM. But the radio works fine. I needed to sit down and exercise my brain after mowing the lawns …. which I hate with furious passion. :teef:

Glad I decided to tidy some drawers out....found a forgotten 80 euros in an old purse . :)

Now on 9th day of antibiotics, 8th day of waking up feeling super good and had no booze for 8 days . Getting a bit worried that this unusual 'feeling really well' feeling since starting on the meds isn't going to last .

Pharmacist has told me that I can have 'a' cider on my weekend away, but don't want to spoil this getting better feeling ('A' cider for me would turn into a few ciders .... do I stand there bored and sober whilst everyone else is partying, or join in the fun and suffer the next day? Hmmmm....:hmm: )
