Vowed never ever take any notice of hubby's stupid ideas again.

Actually found somewhere worse for traffic than Stafford..

After a fantastic motorway journey for a Friday afternoon, traffic was still moving good when hubby announces.." get off at j9 , I want to go past my mum's old estate in Wednesbury, it will only take 10 minutes ".

One hour later we were still stuck in traffic, car battered by monster speed bumps every few yards. Then to top it off, found myself in a ' restricted area' . Just hoping I turned around soon enough to avoid a fine!
( Hotel receptionist told us '' they'' had raised £1700 worth of fines in that spot in the last month)

Friar Parking
He's been back and seen his old haunts now...we ay going driving back through Friar Park again! Been 10 years since we were last there when his mum died, they were driving around the estate in pony & traps at that time. Maybe still are.. Last memories of it were his mums road sealed off by the cops because of a gun fight taking place in a house on the corner. I wasn't bothered who got shot, I was more worried about my car windscreen.

Had a lovely hotel breakfast this morning, so nice that I made a pig of myself and went back for seconds .

It's certainly not a charming, honest criminal, full of characters, place any more

Could be worse, try driving out of Birmingham late at night when the Aston Expressway is shut. The diversion alternatives focus the mind

And the sphincter

I know when I was driving to Brum nights out from West Brom in our courting days, passing through Handsworth I was told "Don't stop the car, if the lights turn to red keep going to keep us alive"

Just been told I'm going to the pub later for a meal. ( Probably....)

Husband asked this morning, with some trepidation, what we were doing tonight.

Two weeks ago it was his birthday and we had 16 people round for drinks and food.
Last Saturday was the village Safari Supper with the after party at our house (40 people). We were washing up until 3.00am.

I said “Nothing tonight, just me, you, the dog, the cat, a log fire, throw a pizza in the oven, a side salad, and a few bottles of prosecco and some tv.

The animals have already settled in.

Just put up such an argument in the pub that Nigel Farage is the Stafford bloke.... Got the forum up to prove it ...... Well, in my defence after a few gallons of cider, Lefroy does sound a bit like Farage :embarrass:
Purely out of scientific curiosity … what sort of cider was it ?
Strongbow in the Wildwood .
Just back home...didn't realise we'd spent 5 hours in there but enjoyed the night out .Don't get to go out often, so 2 nights on the run is :bananafunk:

I’m being taken out for lunch but it’s a surprise, I don’t know where I’m going.
How exciting.
I’m usually the one that organises/arranges things so it’s a lovely treat for someone else to do all the planning.

Yeah believe me I know the problem. Once you've had a melanoma removed the NHS seem to move you up the list a bit. So over the years since 2003 I've been observed, then cut and sent home. Now my back looks like a map of the London Underground !! :buddy:

I'm not complaining, I'd sooner look like Frankenstein's Monster than be dead. (I sort of look a bit like the monster anyway … :teef:)

Gerrin old … gerrin old … it's a bastard, but since you've no say in the matter … open another bottle of rum and grin and bear it.

I sympathise. I had a malignant melanoma removed from my arm a couple of years ago. They certainly keep an eye on you afterwards don't they. I have to go every 3 months for the first 8 years then every year after that forever. Best to be safe than sorry though.

I've got a very disappointed son who sent my mothers day card by special delivery to make sure it got here on time, and it hasn't arrived. (Hoping he gets reimbursed for the money he forked out for it to get here by a promised time as well!) Looking forwards to hopefully getting a visit from the postie tomorrow. Just hope it doesn't arrive whilst I'm out at the doctors tomorrow, as probably needs signing for :hmm:

Still no better, I'm going have ring the Doctors tmrw at 8am, which will be fun seeing how I'm in work at 7am!
Woke at 3 this morning with heartburn, got up for a wee, as you do, coughed so hard on the way to the bathroom I made myself sick,
I do wish, whoever it is with the voodoo doll of me, would pick on someone else, Please!

You can't be really poorly, you're not on leave.

Still not received my mothers day card which son ordered from Moon Pig and paid for the 'guaranteed by 1pm saturday special delivery'

After them arguing with son yesterday that they had sent it 'special delivery saturday' (postie just told me that they would have a signature if it had been sent and received) , apparently now it's in the 1st class post.......... still waiting :ohno:

Glad I don't do internet shopping! Much rather do it the good old fashioned way...go into a shop, pick something off the shelf, pay for it and have it in my possession there and then .

I've had a couple of calls today from what look like mobile numbers, but on second look are only 10 digits long. On the second call someone actually spoke - apparently they were calling from my internet provider and I was using a lot of data. When I asked them who my internet provider was the shouted Talk Talk at me. Quite obviously a scam that could worry some less tech savy people.
