Lots of them about right now. From pretending to be Microsoft reps, BT Internet reps, ISP's in general reps, .. all looking for some poor sod they might just be able to hack or diddle out their financial info.
I'm a bit old fashioned with regard to these people, because when they do prey, they prey on the most vulnerable. My projected punishment for them would involve a very large rotating cactus and one of their more sensitive orifices. :grr:

I had a call last week from an unknown number, but answered in case it was anything to do with sons house purchase (that's probably where they got the number from, had to jump through hoops sending my info here there and everywhere to be able to gift son a bit of my dosh to help get him on the housing ladder )

"We are calling about a recent accident you have had "

I normally hang up at this point, but I was bored so .....

"I haven't had an accident, we haven't got a car , never had a car, and I can't even drive"
"Maybe it was when you was a passenger in a car then"
"I don't go in cars, I walk everywhere"
"You must have had a slip on the floor somewhere though, whilst walking !
"No, I wear sensible shoes"
"Maybe you got hurt at work?"
"I don't work . "
"Maybe in past employment"
"Never worked in my life"
"Errm. well, errrm...."

I'll give it to her, she tried hard

Yet another number to join the long list of blocked numbers .

My elderly parents got done out of £10,000 by people posing as cops investigating bank fraud , cleverly played and my idiotic parents even handed over their cards to the scum who turned up at the door.
I'd warned them time and time again that all these letters coming through the door were scams (pointing out...how could they win these foreign lotteries or prize draws when they hadn't even entered, and not to send requested money and bank details to be able to claim)
I told them time and time again not to answer the phone with their number and name , and confirming any personal details or pin numbers etc if it was someone ringing them.

But even after they had been 'done' they still didn't take any notice of me. Must have been on so many 'suckers lists' :ohno: When I was clearing the house when they had both died, there were still piles of scam letters they'd kept in the drawers

I take it the other way with them and ask them which accident and then just play along with whatever they invent.

It's much more fun than denying everything and they get so excited when they think they've hooked someone with an actual accident history.

They even start quoting how much you can win but then I have to let them down by saying their rivals beat them to the compo claim 30 odd years ago but can they reinstigate for me.

Still no better, I'm going have ring the Doctors tmrw at 8am, which will be fun seeing how I'm in work at 7am!
Woke at 3 this morning with heartburn, got up for a wee, as you do, coughed so hard on the way to the bathroom I made myself sick,
I do wish, whoever it is with the voodoo doll of me, would pick on someone else, Please!
Hope you're feeling better @Glam ? Not seen you about for a while...do I send for search & rescue?

Still coughing, but not as bad. got pains down both sides of my waist today. I'm falling apart.
Take care @Glam  I ended up in Torquay hospital after coughing hard on holiday and tearing 'things' inside me. Thought I was having a heart attack or something at the time as I couldn't move at all for the pain (fantastic fast treatment down there, and they were disgusted with my Stafford GP for not giving me anything for the infection )
