Remainer here who gets to retain freedom of movement whatever we do ;) but I don’t get if the pub is trying to appeal to Brexiters, Remainers or just trying to be “funny” and failing.

They may have to vote on those as amendments for the next 6 months to get the final answer.

How do I edit this?

On the basis it previously read, "Free beer, topless bar staff and false advertising", I'm going to go with trying to be funny.

Hi guys, professional comedian, joke writer and Remain voter here - this is 100% a joke and a completely valid one at that.

The result of the election was, voting for something that hasn't happened. That's what this joke is about. A thing was voted for and something else was delivered.

There's nothing derisive about the language, it doesn't come down on side or the other. It reads to me in a very light-hearted "everything is a mess" kind of way.

Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

Something's been delivered - did I miss something here?

One thing is for certain though - the whole thing is one big joke and it isn't very funny.

I saw this joke a couple of weeks back elsewhere, Don't pick it apart it loses its humour. However my boycott of Slaters still stands unless they have brought their sky high prices down.

Yeah it is. Is a pint of Haka and standard gin and tonic 10.90 really cheap? We were either over charged or that's considered fair.
We pay £4-£4.50 for a pint of Cask Ale in St Ives, so to me £3 seems cheap. Most G & T’s here range from £6-£10, so your deal seems reasonable to me too.

I doubt you could get a pint for less than £3 in a reasonable establishment in Stafford? Obviously in Wetherspoons, but then you’d probably be better off staying at home.

I think I could get a pint and a gin and tonic for less than that. I felt it was expensive and I stand by that. I don't mind paying for a beer, 3 pounds is a fair rate and 3-4 is I guess the market value. Then the gouging is happening on the gin, a single normal gin with tonic 7 quid A single, something is wrong here.

I agree but £6-7 is the going rate for "flavoured" gin and "special" tonic whilst the trend lasts.

I was in a pub just after Christmas (I think in Newcastle) and they served bog standard gin and tonic and you could pick your own flavour in little capsules to add to it. All for £3.50 and it tasted exactly the same as the more expensive stuff.

Completely agree my wife has various special gins but she just fancied a gin.
That said Slaters is a welcome addition and one mans complaints about their prices shouldn't go against them.
