I have today changed the headlight bulbs in a Hyundai i10.

Being slightly more modern than my Getz, I expected a bit more awkwardness, but, Bloody Hell!

The only tool necessary to change a Getz headlight bulb* is the key to open the door, so you can release the bonnet catch - after that, your hands are all you need.

The i10 required the headlights to be removed and the driver's side one would have still been there, if I wasn't so determined to beat the bastards. There is absolutely no reason why it should be so hard.

* It is necessary to pop the light units out in order to change the sidelight bulbs, but this can be done fairly easily - and you could, at a push, do it in situ, if you can remember what it looks like "around the corner".

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
I had a Fiat Stilo which needed the battery removing to be able to change the passenger side headlight. Doing that affected the ECU (for some reason) which required a Fiat technician to reset. Thankfully I never had to change the bulb when I had the car.

A nice old Merc, in original unrestored condition - a few rust spots emerging, but not bad for 41 years.

The little flash of yellow suggests that it might have been UK registered at one point.

Weren't the tail-lights the same ones as fitted to the contemporary London Taxi?

Although the second Riley above seems to have different (later?) ones.
