One can only hope that at the state banquet somebody forgets to muzzle the Duke of Edinburgh and he tells the orange shit gibbon to sod off. :heyhey:

I have no problem with that whatsoever, and truly believe it's your right, if not indeed your obligation to do so.

We can probably almost all agree that he is... not exactly the right man at the right time?

TBF State visits aren't thrown about like confetti, but they're never exactly without controversy - my point is more that it is somewhat hypocritical to shake the proverbial fist at this State visit whilst limp-wristing the shitfest guest-list Brenda has had to glad hand for the past decade.

Spoiler alert - it's not exactly loaded with the good and the great.

I see your point BUT....

That we have invited 'highly unsuitable' people for state visits before seems like a poor rationale to keep ON doing it.

Especially for a man who is making rude comments about the UK (you helped Obama spy on us) , and its current leadership (such as it is).

In response to the current measles outbreak in the USA DT has declared "vaccinations are so important"

That is worrying, I though they were.

Trump says - For all of the money we are spending, NASA should NOT be talking about going to the Moon - We did that 50 years ago. They should be focused on the much bigger things we are doing, including Mars (of which the Moon is a part), Defense and Science!

Three weeks ago it was - Under my Administration, we are restoring @NASA to greatness and we are going back to the Moon, then Mars. I am updating my budget to include an additional $1.6 billion so that we can return to Space in a BIG WAY!

And people say my alien spaceship theory is bollocks!

I say to them: "Bollocks has come into fashion !!" :heyhey:

There is a trope that has been around for a while that speculates on what would happen if * insert Nation here * went to the Moon and pulled the US flag out.

It would be fascinating to watch what falls out of that.

Presumably the Orange Buffoon means reaching Mars by way of the Moon, which kind of inescapably means going to the Moon.

Luckily the Americans we know and love are more Spielberg than Drumpf, and we love them dearly.

Trump Criticises Trump has been a thing since before his presidency. It’s rather amusing

And quite apart from anything else, in March of this year, Pence was pledging - 'it is the stated policy' - to put 'boots on the Moon' in the next five years...

(What he didn't mention is that the boots would probably have been made in China …. :heyhey:)

(And there was Timothy Whites thinking they'd found a safe haven. …. :heyhey:)
