Decided to take a walk down the coastal path for a change. A lot more up and downing (about 600 feet over 4 miles according to the GPS.) Out along a fairy hairy path to the tip of Higher Sharpnose Point, then up the Tidna Valley (also known as the Tidna Shute) to a pub !!! (One of the oldest in the country.) Nice day but the Sun was a bit fierce when the clouds parted.

Set off super early to drive down to the Mumbles for the week.

No traffic en route and lovely drive across the Heads of the Valleys road down into Swansea.

It's the national airshow today and I thought the roads would be busier but they weren't so now here a lot earlier than I expected. Just need to find a nice dog friendly, real ale pub with a view and wait for the planes to start :)

Another coastal walk today but only one pix. The far point you can see on the left is Lower Sharpnose Point, about 2 miles or so south of the yesterday's point.

On the right you can see my former place of employment, a top secret satellite station that nobody actually knows is there … :heyhey:

I saw those "secret" dishes a few weeks ago so I presume you were somewhere near Sandymouth beach?

I can nearly see you from here :)

I have just 'repaired' a failing cordless phone - "It only works for ten minutes, then it beeps and dies".

As I suspected, it was being powered by ordinary* dry cells, so I've replaced them with new rechargeable cells - all should be well now.

Bearing in mind that I've never really got her to understand why it won't work during a power cut, it came as no great surprise...

*With Do Not Recharge emblazoned on them.

a top secret satellite station that nobody actually knows is there …

Bit like the Post Office/BT Tower in London which was top secret until declassified in about 1996. You weren't supposed to photograph it nor show it on maps. Then there were the giant golf balls up in Yorkshire ...

Drove up to the Brecon Beacons on Sunday morning, stopping before Llandovery (where I was staying in a pub) to do the Brecon Beacons. I last did these about 5 years ago, and there's no doubt in my mind that they've been made higher since then !!! :urgh:
Although it was sunny for most of the drive up, as soon as I got into the Welsh Valleys the cloud rolled in. There was even a bit of clag on the tops which is why the pix are a bit dull.
It took four pints of Guinness before my legs became unrubbery. (If there isn't such a word, there bloody well should be.) :teef:

View of Pen Y Fan (2906ft plus or minus an inch.) There were hundreds of people up there and this was 10 am.

Looking slightly west of North from the ridge.

Drove back today (Tuesday) to have some new bones inserted into my legs.
It's a 200 mile drive from Llandovery to home, yet it's only 80 miles as the fly crows.

It was sunny down in the Mumbles on Sunday, enjoyed a few beers by the seafront after a walk from Mumbles to Caswell Bay and back.
