Not Stafford customer service but an interesting response from Booking.com about my hotel booking in Manchester last night.

I went for a few beers and a meal with my son before watching Kelly Jones at the Apollo and booked an executive twin room at the MacDonald near Piccadilly.

Upon arrival I was informed that I'd booked an executive double which I politely advised the receptionist that I hadn't and corrected her error.

Ended up with a classic twin room where they brought us a coffee machine but no apology or offer of. recompense.
I too would complain if I could not fit the coffee machine in my suitcase as it was full of towels and a flat screen tv

Skills to Timpsons by Asda - got keys cut at Harvey’s (I think it is) and they didn’t work. Second time it’s happened. Popped in to Timpsons when I was passing the next day, said I’d had some keys cut elsewhere in town that didn’t work and she cut me three different versions for nowt! Super impressed and will now always go there as first port of call for future keys.

The little desert shop.
Had a nice, slightly different to what I expected, afternoon tea here with my eldest (using living social vouchers!)

Skill to The Door Company who popped round within 30 minutes of my phone call to measure up to quote for a new front door when our porch disintegrated this afternoon.

Meh big thumbs up to Eccleshall fire service who we unfortunately had to call out tonight. Thank goodness we had smoke alarms fitted and working.

We’re all absolutely fine, husband has a small burn and definitely spent too long breathing in the thick smoke but apart from feeling a little tight chested he’s fine. Kitchen is going to take a while to sort though.

Get him checked out if his chest doesn't ease over the next few days.
We had a kitchen fire years ago , although not overly serious , it could have gotten quite nasty.

Very shortly after that I became a carer full time !.

Glad you are all safe x

My parents had 2 fires and their alarms saved them, although dad couldn't find the landline phone on the wall in the smoke , or get to mum who was in bed upstairs.
He had to go to the nearest phone box to ring the fire brigade. I always keep my phone in reach everywhere I stay after that.
