There's a lot of work gone into building relationships around the club, so there is a real community feeling and that will be helped by the last few days of the season.
This Thursday night there is a forum with management, players and officials - in the social club at 8pm.
Friday the supporters trust are putting on an animated snail racing night to raise funds, all welcome.
Saturday sees our last league game of the season, at Marston Road. 3pm v Matlock.
There is a reunion of the 1979 FA Trophy squad and our season's player awards take place in the club at 6.30
On Sunday we then have a full day at the club with a sponsored walk round Isabel trail and the marshes, junior games at the ground, line dancing in the social club, plus senior and celebrity games in the afternoon on the pitch. All in aid of MNDA, Katharine House and the football club.

Have to post the full list as printed in the Newsletter,
Staffordshire Cup Winners:- (Number of times team has one in column alongside.)
  • Stoke City 19
  • Aston Villa 16
  • Rangers 13
  • WB Albion 13
  • Wolves 12
  • Port Vale 7
  • Walsall 6
  • Bilston Town 5
  • Kidsgrove 5
  • Kidderminster 4
  • Tamworth 3
  • Birmingham 3
  • Hednesford 3
  • Northwich Victoria 3
  • Rushall 3
Obviously great that the County Town have won as many as they have. The competition has altered considerably over the years, the boundaries of Staffs has changed to incorporate the West Midlands, but even before that I don't think that Birmingham was in Staffs. I also think that the Villa ground was not in Staffordshire, but am sure Kidderminister and Northwich never were. Near neighbours are able to enter the county completions, and the County FA's are hardly likely to refuse to take clubs money! The County Cups are largely competitions for Junior Teams from League professional clubs, Non league semi pro clubs and amateur clubs. Was a great night.! :slayer:

This got me started!, so I went where else, but Wkipedia? :- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staffordshire_Senior_Cup

Apologises but I am obviously a bit obsessive. I found the list of finalists fascinating, Stafford Rangers didn't win it till 1955! ('a bit obsessive', more like an 'anorak' with autistic tendencies, me thinks! Ed) This is evidence, if it was needed, of the diversity of our wonderful County, But I am probably biased! ('Probably' ! Ed)

Very interesting article. I had no idea that we / Rangers had been runners up 11 times either.

Following our win last Monday we've now gone above wolves in terms of the number of times we've won the cup.

In the 1950s / 60s we got to a number of consecutive finals but couldn't beat Bilston. ARGH.

Lots of positive things going on at Stafford Rangers.

The rooms under the main stand have been renovated by the fans to create a fantastic new bar. The new bar will be open on 24th August.

A new rangers academy has been set up.

New directors have joined the board.

Hopefully, works on the car park and away turnstiles will be undertaken shortly.

New season starts on 17th August. Much of last seasons squad have been retained with a couple of excellent additions. I'm already dreaming of the play offs.

I'm going to Gretha Green on 18th - 20th for a wedding. I'm very tempted to travel up a day earlier and go to the Lancaster game - not sure the wife will be too impressed though. Do I risk it? Ha

I witnessed the final game of our pre season where we won at Newcastle Town's Lyme Valley stadium. The first half, the rain hit me up the left side of the face and the second half, the wind nearly burnt the other side, even though I was on the same side of the pitch!!

As Mark says, the club has tried to move forward again and the fans can now turn up on match days and have a drink in a bar that fans have (almost) paid for, and stand underneath the Shed End that the fans have also almost totally funded.
There's a whole variety of commercial packages that local or national businesses could buy into and with crowds over 500 each week, you also get some additional coverage.
