I’ve actually not seen that many comedians live unfortunately but I’ve always wanted to see more. I saw Ross Noble some years ago in Cambridge and he was brilliant. Tangent central but very entertaining!

Booked to see Tim Minchin in Birmingham this November which I’m beyond delighted about! It’s been a goal of mine for many years to see him live but never had the chance.

I’m a bit saddened that we don’t seem to get many comedians out this way, they seem to skip over the midlands quite severely!.

There are SO many comedians performing in The Midlands and SO many of them perform in Stafford itself.
If you look on Stafford Gatehouse website you will see a number of well known comedians who actively love performing in Stafford and are already sold out. (Chris Ramsey and James Acaster sold out.)

Sarah Millican comes once a month to Stafford Met theatre bringing her up and coming top acts, and it’s only £5 to get in.

Honestly @Vics there is so much comedy in Stafford, I don’t know how you can have missed it.

Were seeing Romesh Ranganathan at the Gatehouse in a couple of weeks, a few years ago we saw Lee Evens at the Gatehouse too amongst others, lots of big comedians use the gatehouse before new tours, you just have to be quick to get tickets...

I do keep an eye on the Gatehouse but I unfortunately tend to be too slow when there is anyone to see apparently, sells out so quick! I don’t really keep an eye on social media.
The met nights seem to sell out pretty quick from what I’ve heard too, and I’ve only been aware of them in the last few months when I’ve been swamped. :(
I’m honestly a little lost when it comes to smaller comedians as it’s not a circuit I keep a close eye on. If you’ve got any recommendations do let me know though!

Coming up in Stafford between now and next year, with tickets still available
Comedy in the Met, once a month.
Ben Elton
Hayley Ellis and Sally Anne Hayward (Sarah Millican’s support acts).
Ed Byrne
Scott Bennett (see him while he’s still playing the small rooms, he’s very very funny)
Justin Moorhouse
Ivan Brackenbury/Tom Binns (it’s the same person, I’ve seen him in Edinburgh twice, he’s good
Jimeoin
John Shuttleworth
Kojo Anim (from Britain’s Got Talent
Henning Wehn ( this is next April and will definitely sell out so get tickets now)
David Baddeil.

It’s worth taking a look at some of the less well known names. We’ve seen unknowns who are now hitting the big time and are now on tv or selling out stadiums.
Comedy in the Met is a good way of starting, you get to see about 4 comedians over the evening. Tickets for these still available for TONIGHT.

There is a comedy night on Sunday 8th Sept at Cafe 43 in Browning St with Kiri Pritchard McLean who has been on Have I got news for you.
3 other comedians are on as well including the brilliant Alex Hylton, from Stafford.
He’s getting really good reviews for his show in Edinburgh.
He’s actually my favourite comedian, but then again I am his Mum.

You’re a wonderful person Carole, thank you!
Unfortunately I can’t make this months Met, but hoping to go next month! I’m definitely interested in the Cafe 43 event, will have to look into that a little later.

I thoroughly enjoyed this last night, thought he was very funny.
Judging from everyone’s reaction, the audience seemed to enjoy it too.

What did you think @littleme ?

I thought he was fantastic, very funny, and I'm stocking up on my supply of Breadsticks.....

I did keep looking round (all 545 attendees) thinking “Ooh is that Mrs Little Me and Mr Carer”

I made sure to be extra nice to everyone just in case.

We were midway up on the very left hand side (if facing the stage)... There were 2 ladies helping out at the bottom near the stage, but I didn't recognise you..

Didnt Romesh look younger without his big beard?!

He did look much younger yes.

I was working on the opposite side, half way up near the exit staircase.
