Well we went last night.

Ended up parking on the old Lotus site, so not too far away.

I had the Haggis and Black Stack and Ribeye, the current Mrs p had Roasted Vegetable Linguine and Caramel Apple Cobbler. The quality of the food was excellent and, though the place was very busy it was all served in good time. The only disappointment for Mrs p was that there wasn't a vegan option as a starter and only one choice for main.

We will definately go back again, but the lack of vegan options mean it won't become a regular for her. Can definately see it as a regular venue for mates nights out though.

I went last night. My steak (a centre cut rump, cooked blue) was amazing. Unfortunately the medium rib-eyes my friends had came out as very well done. I will give it another go.

Went to the Tap Steakhouse on Saturday night for my birthday. As with Lucy our steaks were probably a bit more on the well done side than we usually have them however, both the food & service were great. We will definitely be going back in the New Year.

Has anyone been here recently?
6 of us are off to a quiz at Stafford on Friday night and thought about going here for a meal first.
Where is the best place to park?
Or would it be best to park at Rangers and walk? How far is it?
I don’t know where the steak house is at all.

You might be able to park on Sandon Road, I did when I went last year. It's probably 5 minutes walk from the Rangers so not a bad idea.

We’re not going now.
Meal booked for 5.30, now cancelled.

Due to everyone doing different stuff, it would have meant us all rushing from our various appointments to The Tap House and arriving in 6 different cars.
Completely daft.

We’re still doing the quiz though.

You can park on Sandon Road, ATS or the bit of Astonfields where County Tyres is, or further away at the Rangers.

Was there last week, food was pretty good, they still need to ask people with empty glasses if they want a top up, that aside, no complaints.

Its a great place .booze is very over priced though
Must say I've never really noticed the price of the drinks, so it can't be that much different from equivalent places.

Off their tonight for a family meal. Was going to do the driving but have decided that we'll use Her Majesty's taxi minibus instead...

Given that the parents were up from Cornwall and the brother was down from the Lakes, I booked us all in the The Tap today for lunch (first trip).

Overall consensus was amazing, my wife said the ribs were some of the best she has ever had, mum enjoyed her lamb, dad and brother's steaks got great reviews and I'm just waking up from the carb coma induced by the dirty fries that came with my lovely burger.

Oh and they asked if we wanted refills (despite its being on own own in the back room)...

We will definately be returning!!
