@Noah Thanks for your reply about accounting practices.

I've come across 2. The March Spend. It was very real years ago. Not sure it's still the case recently as saving money has been the name of the game.

1. is worrying. It'd be interesting to know the reason behind it (I'm assuming there was a good reason.) And 3. - I assume you mean 13 4-week periods. Financial years seem to vary for whatever reason. The Education Department's used to run from April to March to presumably fit in with the rest of the Council whereas it would probably have been better to have it from September to August to fit in with the academic year.

These accounting anomalies .... did they come in with Thatcher, or were they around during the 50s, 60s and 70s administrations?

It's probably already been said, but aren't we lucky in Stafford to be able to vote for Jacob Rees-Mogg's niece?

If that's your colour of course...

Mmm, a Labour victory ? unlikely. avoiding a landslide defeat? desirable.

2024 a Labour landslide victory? Probably.....

Three of the four candidates have addresses, on the ballot paper, from outside Staffordshire, with two of them over 100 miles away.

I imagine it'll depend on who the new "dealer in hope" is (please let it be Richard Burgon).

Anyway, I've just had my first flutter of GE2019 - Tories to win Chesterfield, Leigh and Redcar, each at 11/4 ..... and Labour to win Vale of Clwyd at 2/1. 4 bets each of £4.00 (last of the big spenders, me  ). The tip I had ... "Here are some [9] seats I currently have VERY close:" The above are 4 of the 9 listed.
