Went down town well before 10am this morning to miss the traffic. Fine everywhere , except for the 4 way temporary lights at Riverway/Lichfield Rd junction causing big queues again even with lighter traffic at that time. Came back via Fairway and St Leonards instead later!

Does anyone know if J13 southbound entry slip road has any overnight closures at the moment ? Planning to jump on there at 5.30am tomorrow to get hubby to the airport (Then once I've dropped him off, it's off to Worcester to spend, spend ,spend while he's working in Germany :D )
I wondered why it was a bit slow getting to The Hough this morning around 10:30, from Baswich. I then went to The Range and then back home along Weston Rd and Tixall Rd without any hold-ups.

Can't help with J13 Southbound, I'm afraid. I don't remember seeing anything (except maybe something about J13 Northbound) but best check with AA Roadwatch anyway.

the issue seems to be when the traffic lights at riverway / Lichfield road junction are green for traffic exiting the retail park Lichfield road heading into town is stationary so only 1 left turn vehicle can exit before the lights turn red again. Can only see it getting worse in the run-up to Christmas.

Were they adjusting the "dwell" time on the Riverway/Lichfield Road lights this morning? I did the same went in early and back early they were back in action around 11 AM

Closure essentially Tuesday morning as the closures start Monday night. Should be fine tomorrow morning.

Thanks  Noticed the northbound exit is closed if I come back late on way back. Just the rest of the motorway to worry about now lol. Looks like end of Toll Rd on M42 has all lanes closed up until 6am as well, might have to drive slowly to get there after that and hope they haven't overrun.. M42 southbound , once I've dropped him off and head to sons , looks like it's got a full closure around J3, but may be open if I linger long enough (If I get diverted off the M42 I'll be even more lost than when I go on my midnight mystery tours off the closed M5 . Packed extra clothes for if I end up finding a seaside hotel  )

End of toll closes that road regularly. If you are going onto M42 it won't effect you. I take M42 towards M40 and although they say it's closed it's almost a side road and not M42 towards airport.

Just looked at a map. The road that is regularly closed is the m6 toll to m6 link.

Massive transporter came back onto the Crossings at 7.50am this morning presumably to collect something to roll out at rush hour. Fear not the support driver in the van following was happily texting away as it went through so everything is in good hands....

Take no notice of traffic reports of 14-16 north closure this afternoon.
AA said other sites saying it closed, and solid red lines. But cameras showing traffic moving and actually open.I took a chance and jumped on, to find an almost deserted motorway . ( So empty I had to crawl for a bit , to average my speed back down to 50 .... ) Best journey ever from 14-16

I don't use UK motorways much now, but back in the old days, when you were subject to warning signs on gantries and on the radio, it was my practice to just ignore them, on the basis that, by the time they got around to telling you, it would all be clear again - plus a tendency to exaggerate a bit. I never got caught out by reality.

The 'best' was coming back from Bristol on a motorbike after being 'informed' that the M5 was 4WD-only north of Gloucester and impassable north of Tewkesbury. Easiest journey I ever had - didn't put my tyres on snow until I got on my own drive.

Gantry signs all along the M6 warning J14 southbound exit was closed as I drove back this morning. ( Looked like I could have got down it as only one lane was coned off from the top, with sign at top saying works access, but wasn't going to risk having to reverse back up onto the motorway .... )

Can see why there's so many accidents down the stretch 14-13 with several sets of wobbly roadmarkings on the narrow lanes , and hard to make out in the blinding sun. Saw several vehicles veering out of the lanes ,luckily in light traffic .

When I first read that post I read the first word as gravity for some reason. As I read on I thought bloody hell, as if the M6 isn't bad enough without gravity variations causing everything to wobble … :buddy:

Saw that lot.
Very busy outside Sainsbugs this morning, some very noisy roadworks going on, got the gas burners going.
Hope you're not on nights @Glam
