Funnily enough indoor karting was something I always thought would work quite well in large, empty shopping centres

Alternatively if anyone has a cool million I could make a very big walk-about VR experience. Can’t promise a return though, given it’s Stafford ;)

Wow, roller skating rink. That takes me back a bit … :heyhey: There used to be one in St Patrick's Street many years ago. I doubt the pastime could live in the modern world … haven't even seen roller skates for many years, but I'd like to see it.

I skated regularly back then, moving with all the subtlety and grace of a Russian battle tank. :teef:

It still exists! I was an avid roller-skater in the 80's & 90's.

A friend of mine moved to Llandudno last summer and found a weekly roller-disco there which she attends!

I remember going roller skating somewhere near to Gaol Square years ago as a kid. That must have been very early sixties...

Yep that would have been St Patrick Street at that time. A sort of big shed with a stage at one end.

Just wow! Thanks for the thought, although I don't think it's aimed at nearly 50yr olds with a love of speed skating on Bauer skates (I had to have them as a joint birthday & Christmas present in 1984 as they were 'that' expensive) I've never even tried inline skates (are they still a thing?)
Give it a go - a few good falls might do the physiotherapy for you...

That's how I sorted out my dodgy knee.

I've not skated for 30yrs! We could go together - although I don't think there's tenna pants big enough for how much we would laugh x @BobClay and @Gramaisc could come too, I bet @staffordjas, @Gadget & @Jade-clothing would come too - Forum night out!
I have never roller skated in my life! My big sister used have those ones you had alter with a key, and the little one had proper boot ones.
Tried ice skating - once.
