Went to Walton,Stone this evening, drove the scenic route back, Great Bridgeford, Cresswell etc.
Just as I was coming into Cresswell a Farty Fiat 500 (Reg no.FY14 EBD)pulled out on me, had slam my brakes on,
No, I wasn't going fast, my headlights were on and any idiot could have seen me.
How do some people manage pass their driving tests?
Must have been a really scenic route,

Cresswell is near Blythe Bridge.

Unless you were in Creswell?

Pennycroft lights are basically impassable - just don't bother trying.

Dug up to connect the Granny Ghetto, I presume.

Also, particularly out of town, where the fog is thicker and speeds higher, there is a remarkable percentage of drivers still "saving their batteries"...

I see that a good deal of the chippings that were put down along Sandon Road have now come off going away from the Shell garage sheep dip towards Beaconside.
Wonder if the rate payer had a guarantee written into the contract ?

It's actually a special self-gritting road surface, I (don't) believe.

It is a truly 'special' thing to spend that amount of money to make things worse. Not only did they block a good bit of the perforated kerbing, but the new glossy tar skid-pans, especially at the Henry Street junction, will surely provoke some excitement?

Had a closer look today and before long the complete length of that road will need to be redone & yes those shiny areas on the bend could well have a 2 wheeler going down.
Cannot believe in this day & age they still use this micky mouse method to surface the roads.

I wonder if any of the myriad organisations that extort money from us has ever considered actually taking some positive action about the bizarre 'flume' on Gaol Square?

So, we've had road sweeper trundling up and down Sandon Road today, trying to remove most* of the loose gravel that has piled up at the sides of the road.

Maybe they're going to try to glue some of it back onto the skid-pans?

Or, maybe not.

* Except where parked cars were obstructing it and whatever proportion it knocked into the drains..

Midlands News ... Shrops council reportedly paying £1000 per day to 'pothole consultant'. How could anyone be expected to live on that pittance? No wonder the roads are in such a state.
