Losing the will to live here. Sat here in me bedroom, looking out the window, as you do. The blokes over the new road bit have dug up the same area every day this week, filled the hole in and then dug same patch up next day.
They're now down to one portaloo for the whole site.
Nothing appears to be happening, they're like council workers, 1 digs a hole while 6 stand round watching.

Down to one portaloo? Shouldn't that read 1 digs a hole whilst 6 dump into it

Very little progress seems to be being made, they were however digging up the road near Halfords, and the carpark next to Lidl today though.

If it goes down to one Portillo, everyone in Stafford has to wear pink trousers.

Either on a heritage train, or in a heritage Public Toilet.

Some years ago they introduced a deep bass sound into cinemas, … I think for the film Earthquake … (I could be wrong about this, it was a lifetime ago) … and I remember when I saw the film … (disaster movies were popular then, I guess it was to take your mind off the possibility of World War Three,) it was supposed to give you the feeling of the Earthquake as well as the visuals …

(It's a good job they didn't do the same for 'Jaws.' Who needs a ******* big fish with lots of teeth rearing up on you in the middle of your choc ice ?) :urgh:

Well people of Doxey … ya got it as part of your cinema ticket price then … you lot are getting it for free !!! (Does yet another retreat into nuclear hardened and hopefully Earthquake hardened bunker. ) :P

They've now blocked pedestrian access so you can't walk along the road from where the old roundabout was towards Doxey.

Now you have to take your life in your hands, attempt to cross at the new 'roundabout', past Simply Bilash and cross back over to the SSSI side after where the old roundabout was. Ridiculous. Unless I've missed something....

Today the A39 is closed (the main road through the village) and power is off all day for line work. I’m trapped in a powerless house with a gradually fading laptop!!

The pub beckons, dark and deep
And I’ve no promises to keep
And need some beer afore I sleep.
(Apologies to Robert Frost)
