Stacks, for instance, is a Ghost for Frankie & Benny’s. As is Bird Box I think? They also have their own entry and “Vegan by Frankie & Benny’s”

Stafford Gourmet is Butter Knife, though they don’t hide that fact

Well it was 12 miles there. Could have made it a 10 miler if we hadn't gone the long way this morning!

Think I've identified one of the culprits who keeps breaking down my little fences under my bushes around the border of my garden/driveway and leaving tyres marks over the garden....
Just happened to be doing some gardening , and walked out through my garage just as she had driven into my driveway in order to reverse into a neighbours driveway. Was just about to come crashing through one of the bushes with the front end of the big ugly white thing she was trying to reverse, when she saw me . So instead , with the bumper just touching the bush, commenced on her smaller 20 or so attempts to reverse into the massive gap of her relatives driveway . :ohno:

Power just come on having been off all day due to supply line work. I'm all electric, so no power … nothing except the mobile. Went to Bude and walked the town including the beach. As you can see the weather was good, although that strong north-westerly wind is cold … it would peel the hide of an armadillo.
There were some impressive big rollers coming in, but not a surfer in sight (bloody pansies.) Ignore the seagull, he kept in front of me all the way I walked the beach … a total poser determined to get on the internet.

Still no power on return so went down the pub and used their WIFI, and did some pints. Upon returning still no power, but I had remembered to empty the freezer (only a small one) and leave it off for de-icing. Probably just as well as it's not been done for a while (I found a frozen mammoth at the back of it … maybe I should do it more regularly.):P

Still some ice in the trays and with due respect to the environment I forced myself to used it in a couple of gin and tonics … it was a sacrifice … but I decided to make it.

Jeez are we ever screwed by the lack of electricity … :embarrass:

So, it's not even 4pm & you've managed to fit in several pints AND a couple of G & T's? I need to up my game...

Enjoying a drop of red.
Second night of staring at the walls of an underground car park in Paris. It's grim here and not likely to get any better until Monday when we make our escape.

All to look forward to again later this month in London as well.

As they say over here, 'du pain, du vin, du Boursin and sod the pain and the Boursin'...

Thought of that..... well, piece of wood with nails in...then thought of the local cats and birds being found inpaled detered me.... (Plus , many years ago, when my parents put barbed wire on their 6 foot fence which bordered an alleyway to deter the intruders who kept constantly climbing over, they were warned by the cops to take it down as if intruders got hurt, my parents would get done for injuring them!)

Watched a 'Motorway cops in New Zealand ' programme we'd recorded. Seeing a fantastic bridge over a stretch of water, I suggested that would be the ideal solution for a bypass over Stafford..... next commentary on the programme , the police driving over the bridge radioed in "We are just passing Stafford"

Was that up near Auckland ? New Zealand is an incredible country, it's the only country I ever visited where I'd be prepared to live if not the UK. It's got just about everything … :)

I don't know where it was, as only started taking attention when seeing the fantastic road bridge, and then hearing " Stafford"

A few years ago I helped tourists from New Zealand find car hire and accommodation,in Stafford and Great Haywood ,as part of their Haywood's to Manchester canal cruise. When the lady rang me to meet up at Shugborough whilst here, I found it so difficult to understand her. She wrote perfect English, but pronounced it so differently.

Rocks. Rocks is what you need. About bumper height would do.

Kiwi's tend to pronounce 'e' as 'I.' Famously if you ask them the time at 0950 they'll reply: "Tin to tin." :)
