Cars struggling down our road at the moment (not helped by parked cars left on the roads, outside their empty driveways  ).

Hope the main roads have been gritted............

Does it normally thunder the same time as snowing? Nearly sh1te myself with the one massive clap of thunder while I was standing in the doorway taking snow photos :o

most of the driveways around here are full of scrap metal so they have to
My neighbours got an empty driveway which could fit 5 cars on, yet parks dangerously on the bend of the road. So we have to turn out of our drive at a sharp angle and up over the kerb to avoid pranging it. Then drive past another car which has been left on the road by someone who is away at uni for weeks at a time .
Years ago if you skidded down the icy road, you just came to stop against the kerb . Now it's a case of holding your breath as you try not to skid with only about an inch either side squeezing past the double parked cars.

Snow actually slowing a bit at the moment here , so off out with the snow shovel to clear the drive ready for hubby to not come skidding into the house instead of the garage...

Got wet feet , cleared driveway but it's thawing now. Now just got a waterfall coming over the fence onto my patio from my neighbours broken gutter as it thaws.

Found out the disadvantage of having the new back garage door opening outwards.....with snow built up behind it I struggled to get it open

Thanks @The Hawk
'While the thunder from a typical thunderstorm might be heard many miles away, the thunder during a thundersnow event will only be heard if you are within two to three miles of the lightning, according to the Met Office.'

Must have been close then!

Glad you heard it too @Jackel . Hubby can't accuse me of exaggerating now , as he never heard it at work :)

I don't think it was forecast to be that severe in such a short time! Getting ready for a trip to Rugeley and had to change what I was going to wear and by the time I was out of the door I had to completely clear the car! A 20 minute trip then took 90, with routes out of town literally stopped or crawling.

Take one for the team, they’ll use their driveway after that

Dude, not only did i hear the thunder, i also saw the flash, muted as it was, literally about a second before the BOOM!

My very first thought was ¡THUNDERSNOW! But then i am quite an excitable fellow.

Lots of snow falling on the drive to Walsall this morning. It wasn't settling though.

I was taking a couple of photos from the doorstep at the time, so not sure now if it was my camera flash I assumed the flash was. .. ( not got phone camera symbols sussed yet, so flash depends on what icons I've randomly pressed )

Soon jumped back inside when I heard the BOOM
