That is my definition of a couple of inches also!200 miles west at 10am - a couple of inches down now.
Centimetres, you mean.
There has been talk of getting the old Chagford hydro station running again. It was still running in the 1980s, although a visit was awkward, as it was unmanned. At the time, it was administered by the CEGB's South West Region in Bristol. I seem to remember that it had a capability of about 38kW - the " the hydroelectric plant can produce a steady 20 watts of electricity a day - enough to power 40 houses" comment in the article below is probably a bit of "journalistic (mis)interpretation"...Mid February, middle of the day. I have 16 solar panels on the roof and I'm pulling about 30 watts off them !! The cloud is all but down to the deck, it's raining and blowing hard and I'm having the put the lights on to see. Talk about a dark day …
They don't make Saturdays like they used to …

Ha, beat you. We're currently putting 103 watts into the batteries. Not quite sure how it's that high though with the cloud being what it is. Still it all ads up at the end of the day.Mid February, middle of the day. I have 16 solar panels on the roof and I'm pulling about 30 watts off them !!
