What to do in Stafford on a day out?

Hello Stafford, I've decided to jump on the train for our wedding anniversary and surprise my wife with a day out in Stafford. I think I've got the pubs and food bit sorted but was struggling with other non-alcohol based activities!

Do any of the local people have any suggestions? Can you do boat rides down the Sow, or fun physical activities?

Thanks in advance for any tips/idea's.

Cheers.

You would need to bring your own boat. Organised boat hire went about fifty years ago.

Cannock Chase is fairly handy for walking/biking, but maybe not ideal, if you've arrived on foot.

Enjoying a drop of red.
If the weather's nice then you could do worse than spend time on Doxey Marshes. Lovely spot and only a shirt walk along the river, upstream.

We did Citadel a way back and it was fantastic, our first one too. Need to go back for Incognito at some point too
