A question....

How much would you expect to pay , materials and labour for 3 x 6' fence panels , and 2 wooden posts to be taken out and replaced . Wooden posts had snapped off at ground level and were cemented in.. ?

Ahhh they don't portray the Four Horsemen like they used to. At one time they would create one million instant bowel movements !!!

Now ??? … about as frightening as a slightly cross Andy Pandy. :teef:

I remember reading an article years ago about a sort of left-handed fat or sugar molecule, that could replace the natural right-handed ones and perform the same textural and taste functions, but not be metabolised in the same way - thus giving the desirable attributes, without the undesirable ones.

It did, however, have some potential side-effects one of which was described in a delicate, Hyacinth Bucket-like manner as "faecal urgency".

Having tried to fix these myself before, getting the cement out is a very time consuming task.

Yes mirrored molecules … I think saccharin sits in there somewhere. When I learned about them I wanted to create an Elke Sommer out of mirrored molecules in my secret biological lab. (For those that don't know Elke Sommer was an unbelievably drop dead gorgeous German actress, she actually once did a 'Carry On' picture, and pretty much stole the film from the traditional cast.)
It would have worked, but … sadly … as Gramaisc point out … there were 'side effects.' :embarrass:

it really depends on the quality of the fence panels and posts used.
They can vary quite considerably.
But say 3 panels at £50 each (£150) and that’s a very rough guide.
2 posts at £20 each.

Work/labour might be £100 to £150 per worker per day.

When we had fencing done last year we sourced our own fencing, and priced it up so we knew what quality we were getting.

Thanks @Lucy You've made me feel a bit better now , as cost of labour was higher due to time spent getting the remaining wood out of the concrete (At least he's put special post holders in now, so should be easier in the future )

I'm just used to paying for fence panels to be slotted into our concrete posts here.

Thanks @Carole

Wasn't expecting £283 :o (and hubby doing his nut ) but has done a really expert job, using very good panels (I did tell him to make sure he got good ones which would last...) and came over 2 part days to do it , first day taking fence and posts down, getting concrete out and putting fence post holders + cement in. Then next day erecting posts and panels.

(Sons workmate has just been quoted £25o for 2 panels and 1 post by a fencing company for hers.)

1) Now waiting for hubby to get home and start :blah: about the cost, and me offering to get it done in the first place for son.

2) Now waiting for hubby to get home and go even more madder :blah::blah: when I tell him I'm having the car to drive down to Worcester for 7am Saturday , to wait in for sons fridge freezer he's just bought until he gets back from work. He's out at the footie anyway on Saturday, but might have to walk to the Chet to get the coach if he can't get a lift. :blah: :hmm:

Looks like in for another miserable night

I'd go tonight before he gets home from work, save all the aggro.

Take all the cider & snacks with you too...

I shouldn't worry as he is probably just out making other people's lives hell but my cat, who pretty much never goes out, isn't in. I had decorators in today and he usually greets me wailing for food, nothing today. Not around at all. I shouldn't worry.
I am fearful he may have escaped out the front.

Hope he's home safe soon @PeterD it's so worrying when they go missing.

He just strolled in. Filthy and wailing as per normal. I am allowing him into bedroom.
So pleased @PeterD

When I'm looking after ex- neighbours Fusspuss next week, he will be followed around the garden til he has a wee, then safely locked back in again. I didn't let him out much when they lived next door (he was quite happy in a nice warm house instead) but not giving him a chance to do a disappearing act in his new area .

Purchase of whisky and beer has got the fence forgotten about so far tonight....

And a promise of a lift from his footie mates on Saturday has saved the argument of me having the car . :pint::D

...had the decorators in....
Is that the same as Arsenal playing at home ?...
