You are all so brave wearing contact lenses! I hate anyone or anything coming near to my eyes. I feel sick and faint even having a normal eyetest in the opticians !

I've got so used to driving with my varifocals (glasses) now that I don't notice I've got them on most of the time.

As much as I dislike having to keep getting my reading glasses out everywhere , and driving with my varifocals, I just couldn't cope with putting contact lenses in. (Still using my old reading glasses, as new ones from Vision Express last year are far too strong. And the new varifocals crap at the reading bit. I either caught the optician on an off day, or she just prescribed anything just to get me out of there after fetching me water when the room started spinning !)

Had enough fun and games trying to use the nasal spray the doctor prescribed me yesterday ! :barf: Complete waste of time as I just can't do it, and feel sick just thinking about it. Had to fight hubby off yesterday as he grabbed the bottle and was going to squirt it up my nose for me  Supposed to be using it for 6 weeks to help clear fluid in middle ear. Will just have to squirt it in the air and try to sniff it in.....
I've worn contacts since I was 16, I saved up my birthday & Christmas money to get them, rather than wear my hated glasses. I've never found a pair of glasses that suit me. New glasses are brilliant though, it's like seeing in HD - the trees all have leaves again. I'm going to have to put up with them until I can get my contact lense check appointment next week, then hopefully back to lenses that don't make me feel sick. :bananafunk::bananafunk::bananafunk:

Never found a pair of glasses that suited me either. Or so I am told.

We’ve taken a bit of a liking to Buzz Bingo

Probably something to do with the over £800 we’ve made between us over the last month and a half since joining. We only go once a week, honest.

My god is it busy on Thursdays right now though

Worrying, considering the time of year.
For the pedantic, the trees that have leaves at the moment visable to those with 20/20 vision, now also have leaves to those of us that are terrible people & not had our eye test for 2 years....

Got an eye full of nasal spray earlier. Being stupidly stupid not being able to squirt it up my nose, decided to squirt in front of my face and sniff it in... Won't try that again! I can confirm nasal spray in eyes stings like hell!

Mr Littleme is just the same as you, really can't be helped, can't even get drops in his eyes- me, I can stick my fingers in my eye balls and all sorts.

If I could actually squeeze the tube with the one hand, whilst holding the other nostril closed I might be able to dare to do it quickly and get it over with. But with arthritic hands it takes 2 hands to get a squirt out.....hubby has offered to do it, but I'd fight him off more than the professionals

No chance at all with eye drops!

When I had false teeth on a full plate for 6 weeks , whilst waiting for my bridge to be made, I had to keep running out of the office when I started gagging.( Didn't help having to ring customers quoting order numbers, as they all started with SW and I couldn't say 'S' with the false ones in. " Etfh for thugger" )
Dreading the day this bridge fails , as dentist keeps warning it eventually will.... Will have to go toothless :haw:

My kitchen sink mixer tap discomnobulated ifself and left me with a choice of frostbite or first degree burns, no in between. I do all my own electrics and plumbing, my pipe bending skills are a bit … shall we say 'artistic.' Didn't need them here though and there's a Screwfix depot in Bude so got a new tap. Fitting it however revealed that in order to be a plumber you need five foot long arms with at least three joints in the length instead of one. The mixer tap sits at the back between the two double sink bowls and there's just one nut to reach to tighten it up. Talk about awkward !!! I supposed I could have removed the sink, but that would mean disconnecting the drainage and breaking the seal on the worktop, rather more work.
Anway with a tiny adjustable spanner, I managed to tighten it without quite dislocating both elbows, but my arms are now tied in a mobius loop.

You can't see the tap in the pix, but it's directly behind the two sink bowls, two braided pipes are disappearing up into it. Hot from the pump and cold from the supply pipe. I put valves everywhere when I'm plumbing … engine room training and they make life much easier. What I need now is a YouTube Video on unknotting skills so I can get my arms back. :teef:

I'm writing VBA. I haven't done so for at least 13 years but my gosh it's making me happy. I am such a geek.
I'll have to learn VBA some time.

The last time I really got my hands dirty was about twenty years ago, writing VBscript. Since then it's been all spreadsheets, though I do occasionally write something akin to 1970s BASIC. (They've since invented copy-and-paste making coding one helluva lot easier.)

I've learnt a few cool excel things recently, offset and indirect formulas. As in many places, spreadsheets are used as databases far too often.

If it's the securing nut on a monobloc tap, then a set of olde worlde box spanners can be the answer to that.

The obsession with hiding all fixings these days is an unnecessary nightmare.

Have box spanners, but sadly, they couldn't get around the nut because it was too close to the braided pipes, and putting the pipes in afterward was a nightmare not worth considering. Probably the easiest way would be to remove the sink and fit the tap off position so to speak. But that makes for considerable extra work. :soz:
