Called in at Asda, Queens retail park on my walk back from town. Large packs of loos rolls were the 'special display' as you walked in the doors (amazingly cheaper than the last time I bought it!) with most people in the long queue hanging on tightly to a pack in their arms. Then called into Aldi , who had also had a delivery, with most people with a pack in their trolleys.

I didn't join in the 'loo roll grab' as I had a long walk home from town , but should have read the news before I went out , that a pack of 16 Andrex has been listed on ebay for £1000...... :lorks:

as an aside , stafford health and well being are requesting you to use the hand sanitiser provided on entry ( and on exit for me , cant be too careful ;) )

Some of us can remember a period around 1980 when it was necessary to keep a bog roll in your desk drawer, to be sure of having a personal supply when necessary.

It was also a good idea to mark the next sheet, to see if any had been stolen in your absence.

When I say 'mark', I mean with a writing implement.

I always take a roll when I go camping. I might have to dig it out if we run out ( that's assuming I didn't return it to stock when I unpacked - otherwise we'll have to make do with kitchen roll :embarrass: ).

On holidays I always pack a couple of rolls in each suitcase, incase we run out during the night or before the maid comes. Carry one in the hand luggage backpack as well incase the airport cubicles haven't got any. Plus a handbag stuffed with tissues and loo roll. Usually bring most of it back home again unused. Was thinking this time I wouldn't pack so many to travel lighter, but incase other countries are having trouble with supplies think I'd better take my usual quota ...

Better get son to check if his pack I gave him at the weekend are still in his bathroom cupboard....he had a party round his house on Monday , some of them might have gone walkies....

Travel insurance won't cover anything anyway. The only way you are getting money back is if the FCO advise against travel.

At the moment I'm still going to Vietnam. I had to get a visa as I am there an hour longer than the waiver period. They've now stopped the waiver and apparently aren't issuing any visas if you are British. I guess 2 weeks is a long time though and we might have to go next year instead.

LV site last night was saying if FCO advise not to travel, to claim back off travel firm. Extras not refunded by travel firm might be covered by LV.
But if you travel against FCO advice, if you become ill whilst there you aren't covered.

After reading an article in The Express......I won't really know if I have it , if my symptoms are mild, as I've had aches and pains, a cough, and nasal congestion for months now. (Under the doctor for it) Had a runny nose for years . (Name used to be Smith , but was nick named ' Sniff' ) Not got a sore throat yet though....

I'll just have to go by my thermometer!

I would always ignore most of what I read in the Express, but remember that the other symptoms are also what you get with a common cold, and they are rife at the moment.

All schools, colleges and childcare facilities closed in Ireland after today.

No indoor 'cultural' gatherings of over one hundred people and no outdoor ones over five hundred.

Restrictions (currently) to last until March 29th.

I saw a tweet that showed a table of a list of 8 or 9 symptoms and then three columns as to how seriously the symptom manifested itself in Coronavirus, a cold and the flu.

The interesting one was sneezing - it's not a feature of coronavirus but is of the other two. So if you're sneezing, chances are it's a cold or the flu.

I should just add that the tweet was deleted several hours later.
