Great news about the pooch, they are family after all.
Thanks for the birthday wishes, sorry for not going into that bit but I'm struggling at the minute. I'm sure it's just a common or garden nasty cold that my daughter has given me but it's kicking my rear so to speak right now. I'm tucked away in the house and have been since Tuesday and will stay put till next week. I've no where I need to be and don't feel up to going out anyway. If I get worse I might have to call 111 just in case.
Hope you feel better soon @Gadget . Wise to stay put for a while.

I'm glad I drove down to sons with a new thermometer last weekend, as he was wasn't sure if he was just exhausted with long night shifts, or coming down with the virus. Showed his temperature is normal though tonight .

Hubby bought his works phone home to try on our wifi , in readiness to be set up working from home during the Coronavirus , with him being vulnerable. Realised after many heated words ....might work if it actually had a power cable as well as ethernet cable
Got the computer to set up soon, as well as getting it to work with our printer....I forecast even more fallings out :o

After a PM last night from someone on Trip Advisor I met years ago in Magaluf ,and not heard of from years, suddenly got lots of people stopping to chat to me whilst I was out walking this morning. People who had seen me out and about for years and years walking my 3 legged dog but first time today they had stopped me for a chat.
Really nice having a chat to several people , must have had my happy smiley face on today for a change:D

Had a delivery from DHL today and the driver asked if I’d be ok with signing for it ?
“Sure,” I replied, and signed my squiggle on those peculiar little screens.
“It’s just a lot of people don’t want to touch it because of the dreaded C word,” he told me.
“No problem,” I replied nonchalantly. (Then I rushed into the house and held my hands in a bath of Aqua Regia for ten minutes. :urgh: )

Actual summer out west this morning, so the grass was cut, before it clouded over and a very fine drizzle started.

In a dilema... What do we do???...:hmm: Trying to decide whether to cancel the holiday now and just lose £120 deposit. Or hang fire and see what happens by May , either then getting a refund because Jet2 have cancelled it , or losing £1800 if we cancel nearer the time ourselves .Or going hoping for the best, but risking finding ourselves on lockdown in the hotel room for a fortnight if another guest gets infected . There was a case in the hotel next door this week ...(Portugal not on lockdown yet, but lots of bars and restaurants closing or government restrictions meaning everywhere closed by 9pm.)

Can't risk amending booking for later in year, as annual insurance expires in July , LV selling no new policies presently, but say still doing annual renewals. But can't guarantee that will be the case when it comes to it in July (and others we've tried for quotes won't cover hubby for medical emergencies)

Got til friday to decide .....

Worse happened last night when I went to Aldi for our usual weekly stock up of cider..... even that was being rationed and had to put some back. :o

They're rationing booze !!!!

AAAAARRRGGGHHHH !!! WE'RE ALL DOOMED ... :urgh:
Most embarrassing everyone thinking I was joining the panic buying frenzy , when it was my usual weekly purchase :embarrass: I'd only got them in my trolley as well ....everyone else giving me accusing looks had trolley loads piled high with whatever was left on the shelves!

Most of the cider rations went last night....rest for tonight unless hubby decides he's getting tucked into them again. (Suddenly decides they are so nice he's drinking them instead of buying his usual beer :o)

Lots of carpark rage and blasting of horns as well when I came out of the shop. No spaces left and impatient people ,wanting to get parked up and into the shop to grab what they could , fighting for the spaces as they were being vacated. Had two cars waiting very close as I was trying to back out of my space , and neither were moving many cms to let me out incase the other one got in. Everyone gone crazy!

Getting fed up with all this panic buying . I haven’t stocked up on anything. Now I can’t even buy the things I actually need .
Toilet roll is now a luxury I simply don’t have.

I wouldn't cancel. Have the decision made for you when the time comes.

Apparently in Aldi people having bananas stripped off the bunch they pick up to buy, as only allowed 4 of each item. (Yet you can buy 4 x 6 packs of them) .

Sainsburys had loo rolls earlier, I managed get the last pack of 4. 1 of the managers and assistant were stood watching people just grab them off the shelves. Folk were leaving the store with 3 or 4 packs at a time.

If you aren't allowed to travel you'll get a refund, if you are then you can go. Most flights to areas asking you to isolate on arrival seem to get cancelled.
I hope so.

We've booked a holiday in Croatia in mid-May. They're saying that anyone entering the country has to go into isolation for a fortnight. We're booked in for a week.

Anyway, it's not worth doing anything now. There's plenty of time for everyone to get their act together. The next 'big' date when we may have a decision to make is May 5th which is when our holiday insurance expires.

Portugal seems about the only place not putting people into isolation/lockdown when they enter yet. (just sending the cops around bars/restaurants that are still open making sure they are shut by 9pm)

Had an email from Gov.Uk last night saying :

Update on GOV.UK.

Portugal travel advice

Change made
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office advise against all but essential travel to the archipelagos of Madeira and the Azores due to travel restrictions related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

From another site :
As off next week aldi will not be selling any wines spirits. This is so they can clear the shelves to put more stock out.

Glad I got my 3 bottles of wine and a bottle of whisky along with a box of Strongbow from the Co-op today then. Never seen so many customers in Wildwood Co-op! If we're likely to be stuck in for 4 months going to need some booze to get us through. :o (Already arguing after being reminded that , even though we aren't yet 70 , we are both in the vulnerable group on pre-existing illnesses listed .. :()

Can't see my hoard of 4 bars of fruit & nut lasting long either.....scoffed most of it this afternoon..:D Sod the diet !
