Not sure that heat would be such an issue, I used to use it on an 8.5Kw burner when we lived in Eccy. Take your point about rain though.

I would just like to apologise for calling you an 'arsehole' over this - ultimately the shutdown should have come earlier than it did, but it didn't.
That the pubs were open was a mistake, but not one of anyone's making below the chain of command. Given that they were open and life was going on, you shouldn't be criticised for availing of it.
In my defense i was thinking down the inevitable line, and expecting everyone else to do so - the Government line has been an interesting exercise in managing expectations.

Went Sainsburys this morning for a few essentials, cat food etc. Was doing great till one of the assiatsnts called me by my proper name!

On the plus side, the shop was a lot quieter, if only for the fact it's got sod all in it.

Today I accepted an offer on my house and made an offer that was accepted on another.

Had to go to Sainsbury's, my local one not Littleme's, and it scared me witless. I needed food and their pharmacy since I can't order medication via my g.p anymore and they are my named pharmacy. I got most of what I needed but had a few panicky moments when I realised random people had gotten so close that any closer would have needed an introduction and at least dinner. I'm in no hurry to repeat this experience, especially as I seem to have been so tense I've pulled muscles. Sadly I have to go back on Wednesday and pick up the medication

After 19 years of my neighbour living next door, first time ever today she asked If I wanted to go for a drive out with her and round the ( non food) shops. 
Decided if I come out of this the other end , it will be to a much slimmer me.
My projects whilst confined to the house...
*gardening.
* the exercise DVD's that I've not done for years
*refreshing my French ( which I used to be quite fluent at with spending months in France , but being forgotten fast),
*and German ( which I found a couple of years ago I'd virtually forgotten all those years of learning!)
*Jigsaws
* Dig the unread paperbacks out to read

THIS! This is why I'm so glad everywhere is now on lock down, mindless idiots driving to any shops to wander round, putting the staff of those shops and their family's at more risk absoloutly needlessly!

My campaign for real ale membership card came today with £30 of 50p off a pint vouchers.
Not sure whether I'll get a chance to use them this year the way things are going just now.
At least they've made all of the vouchers valid throughout the year instead of limiting batches of them for certain months during the year.

Sons last day at work yesterday , he said the place was rammed with people with no regard to keeping a distance in the queue. Some kids and parents even laughing and joking that they were going to spread it to hundreds , and " it's only the flu"THIS! He and other managers have been getting so much abuse.Glad his place has finally closed the doors for a while.
Going to be lots of very tidy gardens and shiny clean cars these next few weeks.
I've been learning bits of hubby's job as well for something to do. ( Might come in useful if he ever feels Ill,I might be able to do my bit to help those vital medical supplies keep coming..)

I keep looking at my lawn and thinking it needs some "weed-and-feed".
This'll be another area where the supermarkets do well. I probably can't justify a trip to B&Q or a garden centre to get some Evergreen whereas I can go on a detour round the gardening aisle when I'm next in Asda buying groceries.
