Recycling changes...

Family of 2 here and it's full. Really don't know how a family of 4 will have enough space.
Family of 4 with lots of cardboard boxes and the answer is most of the big boxes are still sat in our back garden. Bag is full of regular household recycling which fortunately has weighed it down a bit because I fully expect half of our street’s to be blown away!

I wonder if people have different sized bags? Ours is nearly as big as the blue bin, it's half full (family of 3, + 3 beasts) but weighs a ton...
that's a good point maybe there are different sizes. Mine is about half the size of the blue bin.

Wait until these bags are nearly full and left outside in the rain (as I guess most will be)
They will become very heavy as the paper / cardboard soaks up a lot of water & cannot see the bin men being to happy handling a few hundred a day ?

From our first load I can't help but think that the cardboard would be better in the wheelie bin and the plastic and glass should go in the bag.....

You’d think so wouldn’t you? Plastic and glass is generally the smaller in volume stuff...

As if The Plague wasn’t enough - now we have The Blue Bag.
Was this Veolia’s idea or council committee (borough / shire?) I think we should be told so I know which body to chant some bad karma at.

So they're taking a zero tolerance approach straight away....
With going through it forensically there may of been an odd piece but seriously?

We have a duty to recycle properly and we have had plenty of info to get this right.

If we call on council to recycle and do so in this country (instead of it going abroad), we have to do our bit

I was going to post a snotty reply asking for an up-to-date link about what goes where (I'd checked on the BC web site but couldn't find anything recent), but I've looked again and here it is - https://www.staffordbc.gov.uk/bluebag - some guidance on what goes in the Blue Bin (and what doesn't) and what goes in the Blue Bag.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
Just rang about the lack of blue bag. Was told that I should have received it already but they would put me on the ‘missed delivery’ list and one would be delivered possibly by the end of the week.

Same here. They also left the yellow tag on my blue bin but I'm presuming it was because I'd not used a blue bag, which I've never received.

And in the same way the council have a duty to be reasonable. Some plank 3 doors down ignored the blue bag and put any of shit on his blue bin and was treated the same....

I don't think the info was as clear as it should of been. Where was the breakdown on the different plastic types just to be definitive. - they used to provide this info in the past...

Our blue bag was delivered on Thursday (blue bin day). The bag is over half full already. There was a leaflet inside describing what went where. There's a few things that we always dumped in the blue bin that should be going in the green bin now (plastic bags, black plastic trays etc etc). Going to need vigilance changing the habits of probably 20 years plus.
It's a bit crap having the tips closed, we'd had a clear out last weekend & had planned to dump it Saturday or yesterday. Still, we've got lots of secluded lay-bys around the borough.

The bag was delivered after our last blue bin collection when we had already started putting the usual materials in our blue bin. There should at least be one week’s grace period with a reminder that next time the bin won’t be emptied.

With no brown bin collection can you just dump your grass clippings on the Chase - after all it is organic ? No ? Thought not, not officially anyway - but what about using The Great Escape ‘trouser’ method for defeating the goons (ie Chase Wardens) ?
