And there was me thinking it was a slang term for selling something. Now I understand why the bloke that bought my car got so upset …. (Mind you … he really was a wanker … ) :heyhey:

I'm considering stopping telling people that I've been flogging a dead horse.

My life is somewhat influenced by Australian culture having a great deal of family living there, and I consume a fair bit of its sports and media.... The term flog is a form of slang over there, generally meaning "someone who is pretentious, conceited or foolish"...

Yep and it's been like that for decades.... at uni 25 years ago I had a p/t job at a b&q and whilst doing work there on an Easter Sunday you could see the idiots pouring into the car park thinking it was open....

I genuinely expect B&Q to be open. I am unsure what a flog is though.
It's only open for click and collect that have been preordered via Internet anyhow, (not Easter Sunday) the same as Argos inside Sainsbury's.

Also, someone told me that they're only allowing certain items to be ordered, paint is not included, apparently.

I did a click and collect order last weekend which was collected from them and they've been messaging me ever since telling me I need to come to the store to collect it... They've since told me the order is now cancelled!!!!

I had the same with an Amazon order, I collect them from a local shop as its more convenient.

They messaged me to say it was at the shop, but before I got there they messaged to say it had been collected (I hadn't collected it) , so I went & collected it (it was still there) , then they messaged to say I had collected it. A few days later they messaged to say I hadn't collected it & they were sending it back and I would get a refund...

....still waiting for the refund for the item I collected :heyhey:

Their click & collect service is pretty crap now. I ordered & bottle of glue on weds afternoon for collection at B&Q Meir. Website told me it was in stock for collection after 9am on Thursday. I was going in that direction so called in at about 12 with the printed confirmation. Queued on the car park ( you don't go into store, they take your details & bring it out to you) & showed confirmation. "Have you had an email telling you to come to collect" he said. "Erm yes, you're holding it". "No not this one, you'll get another telling you it's ready" he said. "Oh,ok. Not to worry, I was up this way anyway"" says I " How long will this take". " Oh about 3 days" FFS
I got an email yesterday at 4-30 confirming it was ready to collect & they close at 5. Tucked away at the bottom of email was an "important message" telling me not to come to the store until they contact me to confirm it's ready to collect but they'll keep the item for "no more than 2 days, if not collected it will be cancelled & a refund processed, this can take up to 14 days to complete"
I should have just ordered it from Amazon.

Have used this service twice now, second time was a Friday order for collection yesterday, no hiccups. Had a message early yesterday morning telling me goods were ready to collect, rocked up at the car park and was on my way home within 5 minutes.

Yep , paint is included but they don’t do the mixing service.

I wish I’d selected Stafford, I had hoped I could save unnecessary mileage as I was going to be in the Stoke area.
Was your message by email? I’m still not sure whether the email is the actual confirmation or I need to wait for them to contact me to say it’s ready as per the message at the bottom of the email. I’ll probably have to go tomorrow morning anyway, it’s the only chance I’ll get over the next few days. Fortunately, as a “key worker” & my business can’t be done at home at least I’ve got an excuse for travelling around a bit.
