Thankyou @Carole , I like the sound of those.
When I began I just bought the first two in the charity shop that were 1000 pieces.
The first took far too long and nearly gave up on the blue then the green.
The second was much quicker and more enjoyable so I get what you're saying.View attachment 8256 View attachment 8257
I've got that cake one still to do :D
Going to have to get the new jigsaw mat out (bought a few years ago and never used as I've had the luxury of a table to do them on up until these past few weeks) and try doing some jigsaws on sons old bed if it doesn't hurt my back and knees in an awkward position...

Have you got a coffee table that you can use?
I’ve got one of these that I use, a portable zip up jigsaw thing that I use on the table, but I can move it around if needs be.
I know that doing jigsaws isn’t very “rock n roll” but I’m actually finding it very therapeutic. I’m also loving that I’ve got time to
do them instead of rushing round like a whirling dervish.

I read an article the other day about how jigsaws have really taken off now that people have more time on their hands, but it’s actually good for improving visual- spatial reasoning, improving memory and reducing the amount of brain cell damage, supports the growth of new brain cells.
They also release the production of dopamine, which regulates mood and feelings of optimism.

I was glad that I read that, because I do feel more relaxed but tinged with a little guilt that I should be doing “more jobs” instead of relaxing every now and then.

Once I start one, I can be up all night thinking " just one more piece and I'll go to bed"...

We've just got a nest of 3 smallish coffee tables , but hubby uses the biggest one to eat his tea off now the dining table isn't in use. Might try the jigsaw roll up mat on the coffee tables tomorrow and see if I can move it later ( before I do too much if the pieces don't stick to it as good the packaging reckons)

Got about 10 jigsaws at least in the house ,to either re- do or to do for first time.

Nope … I haven't got religion.

This is Stage One of the preparation of the Bob Clay Mark Two HF Loop Aerial (the Mark One exploded !!) It will be made from 10mm copper plumbing pipe which is precoated with plastic and about 1 metre in diameter. 10mm pipe wont support itself with the winds we get around here (there's a 3000 mile weather engine just a couple of miles away) so I have to set it on a cross, made from picket fence rails. The thing is I don't want to join the sticks with metal screws, … metal inside the loop might affect the characteristics of the aerial. So I joined them with 5 glued dowels made from the handle of an artist's paint brush I found in the garage.
There will be a small head amplifier mounted right below the loop, and the then the cross will be mounted on a 15 foot pole. That will be about Stage Three I think, I want this aerial to feed the conservatory so mounting the pole will require some thought.

This is a receiving aerial only, the advantage of a loop being it is less susceptible to noise.

Just thought of a use for the new veg box that delivery came in yesterday....
They don't want it returned, so once disinfected will cut the bottom out with a Stanley knife ( or probably get hubby to do it after my dangerous attempts with the knife last week). Then use as a portable jigsaw base along with the jigsaw mat ...

Stage Two completed.
Loop mounted together with head amplifier. Now ready for testing before I commit it to an erection ( … no jokes please … ) but I'm too knackered as this proved to be much more tricky than I anticipated what with trying to get it as circular as I could, and making sure it's strong enough for Atlantic winds.

I just hope I don't get pestered by Jehovah's Witnesses when it goes up …
