I always am nice. There's a few in there I try n avoid like the plague.
That could actually be turned around to mental health workers, I've been thumped, scratched, felt teeth slide across my forearm, had my hair pulled and belted with a walking stick, That's just in the last week. Not to mention the times we're verbally threatened.
I suspect its all much higher for you, but at least your lot of 'customers' can pretend that they don't know what they're doing... I just don't know what's wrong with people, I thought it had got better, until today - 2 people verbally abused me in the whole 4 hours I was at work.... 4 hours! And that's just for me....

My Union, USDAW, has carried out a survey...

Usdaw’s survey of 4,928 shopworkers shows that since the Coronavirus outbreak:
  • 62% of UK shopworkers experienced verbal abuse,
  • almost a third were threatened by a customer
  • 4% were assaulted, which amounts to more than 3,500* every day when averaged across all retail workers.
Please be kind....

This is totally unacceptable.

I can't understand some people's attitudes particularly in the situation we are in.

Yes going outside is frightening, yes it is frustrating, yes it is confusing, yes it isn't how we normally function but FFS show some respect to those who are risking their lives to help us survive.

I feel like lockdown has already ended around here. :ohno: Sitting on my patio at the moment listening to so many flouting the rules. People having numerous daily visitors or driving out obviously visiting each day. Groups of kids out playing on the fields most of the day , with parents sitting together watching them . People walking in ( non family) groups and meeting others in the nearby alleyway and stopping for a good old chin- wag for ages.
Seems like people are assuming it isn't going to strike around here !

I managed to run into my mum when cycling and my sister when shopping, which was nice as I've seen neither in over a month. Still kept 2m away obviously.

I'm alternating my Gove mandated exercise break between running one day and cycling the next, seems to be helping the leg repair (from December!) as I matched my PB over 1k today and was only about 20 seconds off my 5k. I am running much lower distances though, I want to be back on 10k runs in a month. I'm gonna hate going back to work!

Today's walk. 3.516 miles which took us 5 minutes over the hour, though we did stop to watch the ducklings on the River Sow.

The death toll of Britain today is the same as Italy on March 7th which means we are exactly 2 WEEKS BEHIND THEM.
Will people please take the social distancing thing seriously and stay in, only going out for essentials.

I read of someone yesterday who said he was young and not in the at risk category so it didn’t affect him.

JUST STOP IT.
YOU'RE SPREADING IT.

When I first posted this at the end of March before the lockdown there were 48 deaths per day bringing it up to a total of 271.

A month down the line people are getting complacent because deaths are down to “only 400 per day”.

Over 20,000 deaths now.

But hey ho, just carry on going out, mingling, because it doesn’t affect you directly does it?

Idiots.

one thing people seem to of forgotten during this lockdown is that recession kills. recession may not be listed on a death certificate but it still kills. if the recession resultant from the lockdown is worse than -6.7 per cent than the lockdown mission of saving lives will of failed as more life-years will of been lost due to recession than saved from coronavirus. we need to ensure that whatever we do the cure isn't worse than the disease.

Twaddle. Unless I'm reading that wrong, I'd rather be skint than dead.
