Angry Cyclist.

I feel a bit for k p Abbott here. Regardless of this cyclists known issues everyone does have the right to feel safe from his intimidating behaviour. Just because his condition is known doesn't make his behaviour acceptable. Why should people have to tolerate being threatened and scared out of their wits by him? People have right to feel safe and drivers have the right to not have crazy kamikaze cyclist coming at them.

Just to show you i'm not all bad... this is the conversation i had on Strava with the concerned lady after she saw him veer across the road to chase after me:

Hi xxx. Did I see you get followed by someone earlier? Wondering if you wouldn’t mind telling me who he is - looks like he had a nice bike for someone without a helmet or anything! Would like to be vigilant. Cheers

I live in <Redacted>, and the person in question lives on Parkside. He's basically a nuisance to motorists by threatening them, riding erratically and generally being aggressive. A month or so ago he waited for me on the A34 / Beaconside roundabout and this happened: <Redacted> His name is Steve and is well known to the police!

Thanks for that. I thought he might have been following you for your bike and while mine isn’t worth much I thought I’d like to know who he is in case of confrontation! I’ll keep my eyes peeled. The way he cut across the carriageway in front of cars was really quite concerning!

Seriously... what do you actually think people can do with what I've posted.

Get off your high-horse!

Is it acceptable that i should feel anxious everytime I go out to ride given the proximity of my address to where he lives? Is it acceptable that i had to ride around for another 5 minutes for fear that he might spot me and follow me home?

Everyone already knows his rough location due to his abusive and unprovoked behaviour towards innocent members of the public I have symphony to the poster at best it's unpleasant being on the recieving end of his abuse at worst pretty dam scary. Luckily I've never seen him attack anybody physically but if that video was your first encounter I wouldn't blame anybody for bring scared.

Seems like moral outrage is only directed towards new posters... always nice to receive a friendly welcome!

Dont feel intimidated by the self proclaimed forum police , admin has the sole right to say what is acceptable on here , no one else... even more so if they haven't the guts to tell you to your face directly.
I've seen quite a few similar posts from new members being made and then being ripped apart by a certain cliche on here.
I'm sure admin will let you know if theres an issue , until then crack on ;)

Am I missing something here. I’ve only watched the video once (&without sound). Aren’t those broken white lines the rider taking the video rides over “give way” lines meaning the rider already approaching from the right has right of way.
Don’t you just love these GoPro folks that feel the absolute need to put everything onto YouTube?

Admin edit: Removed real name. Do that again and you're banned.

Yes you are missing something... Context!

If you'd listened and watched the video you'd noticed that he specifically slowed down on the roundabout and waited for me before shouting abuse.

Is it OK for you to post my full name on here given the abuse I got for doing the same? Clear double standards on here.

Don't begin to think you know me either. My wife got me a helmet cam because I had far too many close calls for her liking. All videos uploaded are where I have had an incident and used the uploaded incident as evidence to post to the police.

I really hate judgemental keyboard warriors.

I've seen the angry cyclist do U turns in the middle of incoming traffic to chase and abuse cars travelling in the opposite direction.

Whilst he is abusive I've never seen him attack anyone and I believe he is more of a danger to himself than anyone else.

My concern would be for his own safety and for those who may be involved in the accident that he will undoubtedly cause at some time in the future.
