My window cleaner resumes his rounds at the end of this month , he had send me a text to say he had had the virus in april and only really started feeling well enough to work this week.
Luckily i pay him by direct debit so i dont have to make contact anyway.
I am presuming he will be in full PPE anyway.

He is one of those people that do a lot of action / adrenalin sports so pretty fit but it knocked him off his feet for weeks.

But the company has stuck to gov guidelines and hasnt ran since the lockdown .
i would be happy to see them return as soon as they are ready to do so .

Just received a letter in the post from Imperial College London , inviting me to take part in a study about the testing process. (Got my name from GP )

Going to send me a test kit which may indicate if I've already had Covid-19 or not and let me know the results.

Might find out what that cough I've had for months really is now...... Hoping I have actually already had it and survived without too severe symptoms

(Just been watching their video with exact instructions of how to do it....just hoping I can get to my tonsil area ok without gagging too much and touching my tongue with the swab :hmm: )

good luck , i would advise you get your doc to do it for you though , it seems a lot of the seft tests dont actually work as its easier for a trained med to get the right spot.

let us know how you go on :)

My sister had a test last week after filling in her symptoms on their app. She said the swab bit was pretty horrible.

I'm dreading doing it , after watching the 2 instruction videos. Got to get the mirror out and find out where my tonsils are/were .

That's a point...might ask the pharmacist if they are able to do it. I can't even do the throat sprays properly, just end up getting it on my tongue instead as it gets in the way. Not allowed to let the swab touch your tongue or gums or it's no good.

Edited ... just rang pharmacist, but can't do those sort of services at the moment

Don't think I'll be able to do it. Just asked hubby to take a photo inside my mouth of where my tonsils are. He kept telling me to put my tongue down , as it was in the way and he couldn't see the back of my throat, and I couldn't :(

i see the only option to be a doctor to do it if possible .

We're not doing too well either.

Figures* for hospital deaths for the whole of the UK are only creeping down, consistently but slowly. In Scotland they've barely moved since the first week of April. They did start to dip around the end of April, but that decrease seems to have halted. You can see why Nicola wants to keep 'em locked down for longer.

* - That's based on the 7-day rolling average which takes out the up-and-downiness caused by weekends and the bank holiday.

ETA The death rate in the whole of the UK is about 5.8 per million per day. In Scotland it's about 7.6.

My only query on that would be I'm not sure Boris Johnson is that clever. Having said that, those creepy types behind him like Cummings and Warner .. that's another story.

Hes only the puppet.
Don't be deceived , hes very clever is Boris , that's what makes him so dangerous.

Not sure Cummings is really that interested in feeding Boris lines. He's not even a member of the Conservative party. Reforming the civil service is more about what he's after, and the country's unimpressive reaction to the pandemic may be playing into his hands.

They are looking at how to better use AI to inform government decisions, and he is steering the research using his mates from the vote leave campaign. Once embedded if you control that software you effectively control the government, and several conservative MPs have shares in the company in question.

I used to call Cummings 'The Mekon.'

I'm changing that to: 'Rasputin.'

(I'm considering 'Raskon' or (frighteningly now I look at it ) 'Meputin.' )

Subliminal Advertising :o
