I find that they pop up on their own in more than sufficient numbers, have you had a good look around the place?View attachment 8576
18 Poppy's open so far, the wind got to it the other week so its looking worse for wear. We've never been able to grow any other poppy plants from the seed, any tips anyone?
Only one, managed to seed itself into the patio, I've managed to extricate it & pot it on, although it could be doing better, but as hard as I try, I can't get the seed to propagate...I find that they pop up on their own in more than sufficient numbers, have you had a good look around the place?

I’ve tried 10 packets of 4 different varieties this year, some in pots in the house, some in the greenhouse and some straight in the ground outside.View attachment 8576

Maybe, but I've tried all sorts, and just can't get them to germinate, someone once told me the best idea was to sprinkle the seeds in the snow at winter, but that hasn't worked either. I have no problem with Caljfornian Poppys, or red field poppy's, just these big red ones.Just had a thought, you aren't covering the seeds with too much soil are you? Poppy seeds need light to germinate.
