Walking around the lake this morning I got this pix of a Heron waiting for his/her breakfast to swim by. I was surprised because these seem to be very nervous birds, and normally as soon as you stop on the path, even though there's quite a distance between us, they fly off with loud squawk that's straight out of Jurassic Park.

I'm piling on as much magnification as I can with this little Canon Ixus camera.

Perhaps he/she is wilting in heat as the Sun was pretty harsh this morning and no wind. Unlike now as the rain is lashing down from a cloud the size of Mount Everest.

We were within 10' of one last week, it didn't seem to care. Then a duck appeared and it was off like a shot, stopping only briefly to grab a fish in the ducks landing zone.

Sun shining again.

Some years back I took a picture of a heron from within a few feet. It was standing by the canal just where it emerges from the Netherton Tunnel in Tividale in the Black Country.
I think the herons up that way are a much less nervous because if you've got to sustain yourself on what lives in that canal, you're more than able to knock back a nosey two legger. :teef:

And like, I've met @That-Crazy-Rat-Lady so that means I have to come too!

On a seperate note... @That-Crazy-Rat-Lady is
Gin vegan? We have been buying our vegan (not minime, she's only 14!) Malibu as I thought it was the only spirit that was? Although @proactive has mentioned vegan wine....

To be honest I hadn't really thought about spirits being vegan! Ooops!

A quick google tells me - YES! As long as they aren't cream liqueurs we're all good!

I eat salad for lunch at work. Probably get through 2 bags of lettuce leaves a week. this is the perfect time of year to grow salad leaves. I think I paid £3 for 200 mixed lettuce seeds. I plant some up about every 2 weeks and it will keep me going all summer. I fact I'm still using the seeds from last year

I can't wait to move house!

I'm most excited about having a compost heap!

I'm so old!

Looks like we've got these storms for the rest of the week !!! (WOW ... God must be getting a lot of coal in. Do you think he/she knows something we don't ... the old Stark saying ... 'Winter is coming.' )

Just to cheer everybody up, after Saturday ... the days start drawing in ... :P

Rang HSBC this morning to inquire about mortgages.

Lovely gent took the usual details - I completely forgot where I lived!

Complete mind blank! I had to shout to the husband 'Where do we live again???'

Poor bloke on the phone must have thought I was a weird scammer as he asked me 'casually' three more times throughout the call....

Hope they haven't blacklisted me?!?!

I once set out on the Honda to go to Wolverhampton.

On the way, I not only forgot where I was going, but suddenly had now idea where I was.

By this point, I was just south of Dunston, although I didn't know that at the time.

I resolved to continue, until I saw where I was, on the basis that that would remind me where I was going.

I saw the tower of the church in Penkridge and suddenly 'knew' that I was approaching Kildare on my way to my uncle's farm.

Then I saw the sign for Penkridge and my 'sat-nav' had to 'recalculate' again...

If you are remortgaging try Trussle.com, they were brilliant when I remortgaged and I'll now recommend them to everyone.

Yesterday morning I woke up after a vivid dream about M&M's. Was most disappointed when I woke up to find I didn't actually have any , and been fancying them since .Haven't had them for years, or even spotted them on the shop shelves for ages.

Today, whilst giving the car a run out to keep the battery charged, stopped off in the garage to fill up. Right in front of me , sitting prominently on their own on the shelf in front of the till were a couple of massive bags of M&M's .....I was just meant to buy them!

I had a dream last night that @littleme had the same wallpaper as me.
If it's the wallpaper from Peaky Blinders, then we have!
