Walked from Milford to Little Haywood through Shugborough and back along the canal today.
Managed to walk behind the Hall which I don’t recall being able to do before without paying.

Walking along the Isobel trail between Haughton and Gnosall I spotted this and wondered what it was, any ideas?
Is it just a children’s amusement thing or does it have a more meaningful purpose such as a sacrificial totem pole for a lost tribe of North American Indians from Gnosall?

Since I escaped west in March, I have only been inside four buildings - my Chalet, the Big House, Lidl, on Wednesdays, after my confinement period lapsed, and once inside the Chemist's shop, after the infection control cat flap was removed and they would actually let two people in at a time.
Today, I entered a fifth building.
It was a pub.
Don't get too excited, although it is technically possible to open a pub here, as of yesterday*, it was not 'open'. I just attended to look at a few things that have been done in the hiatus period and investigate the possibilities of a few small improvements that I could do.
* Not reopening pubs on a Saturday, for the first time in three months, like some sort of idiot would do, but giving people a chance to hone the edges of the new systems before the weekend.

Massive excitement today.
Not only was it a Wednesday, meaning the weekly highlight of a Lidl run, but I had to enter a different shop this morning, to get some non-Lidl items.
This means that I have now been in a sixth building.
And it means that @staffordjas will shortly be able to have her oats again.
I am considering attempting a seventh building tomorrow - or Friday.

So today was my first day out socialising since lockdown.
I planned to get the bus to town, do a little shopping and then go to the Bird whilst it was quiet.
I left the house with my own sanitiser, gloves and mask, only to discover that wearing a mask and glasses at the same time aren't necessarily conducive and I couldn't see a thing when exhaling for some reason

If there is a hem along the top of the mask, then you could insert a bit of softish wire or aluminium strip - then mould it to reduce the gap either side of your nose.So today was my first day out socialising since lockdown.

It is an issue that will cause much more of a problem if this extends into the colder weather...

Ah, my cunning plan was to take it off when I got off the bus so that I could find the pub and have a drink. That worked so part two of the plan was to then wear a fresh one for the return bus journey

I watched an article about putting masks on properly for maximum effectiveness.
Said to mould the top of it around your nose, and if your glasses steam up it isn't on right.
