I've been pub-ed!!

Was really nice! Everyone obeyed social distancing and the one way system - the staff were happy to be back and made us feel welcome!

To be fair we had a few pints at 2pm - gawd knows what it's like now!

Skipped it. Rain, drizzle, dense mist all mizzlerable day. More like February than July. Never thought Saturday was a good day to re-open anyway. Our local has apparently been refurbished and is quite a big pub with front and back outside tables so hopefully they'll be ok. I'll go in the week, bit of Sun might be coming.

Was he able to stay 2 metres away from his friends he was sharing the table with?

250,000th poster!
1 metre now isn't it?
No, Boris says...

“Given the fall in the prevalence of the virus, we can change the 2-metre rule from 4 July,” he said, adding that it “effectively makes life impossible for large parts of the economy, even without other restrictions”.

“Where it is possible to keep 2 metres apart, people should,” he added. “But where it is not, we will advise people to keep a social distance of 1-metre-plus, meaning they should remain 1 metre apart, while taking mitigations to reduce the risk of transmission.”

Will find out the set up and procedures they had in place, and whether he felt it was safe or not, when I manage to speak to him once he's finished work. (Just got a quick message so far this morning saying he enjoyed the night out , but felt weird as so different to the norm)

Me & Hubby going to wait for our first pub night out until the end of august when it's hubbys birthday ....if we aren't all back on lockdown by then.

Boy and his gf booked a table for four at the Newport Bod. Said it was well organised and 'policed'.

Makes a mockery of the pubs going to great lengths to keep everyone safe INSIDE the pubs by putting up screens, taking out tables to create more space for social distancing, buying masks for staff etc when you see scenes like this OUTSIDE the pubs.

Email circulated by Staffordshire Police. Looking at the date quoted either some of them had been enjoying a few pints or they have a very good crime prediction system.

" After over 100 days without them, bars and restaurants re-opened yesterday resulting in Staffordshire Police receiving almost the same number of 999 calls we received on New Year’s Eve 2020. Most calls related to anti-social and drunk and disorderly behaviour. However, the majority of people enjoying themselves were safe and responsible. Full Story on Staffordshire police twitter."

Apparently 449 calls between 7pm & 4am. Police officer hurt & hospitalised in Uttoxeter & two people from Burton arrested, seemingly involved in the Uttoxeter incident.

Bloke I see in Stone, went for a pint at The Red Lion yesterday, shown to his booked seat, 20 mins after the alloted time, he had a pint, but left immediately after he'd drunk it cos there was no social distancing at all.
Group of lads watching footy on the telly one end, 5 or 6 blokes crowded round the bar.
He ended up in I think he said the Star, wasn't really listening, that was sticking very closely to the rules, staff with masks, using hand sanitizer.
He had been working up Manchester at Stepping Hill Hospital, ferrying the Corona Virus patients around, reckons that job was safer than sitting in a pub in Stone.

They do a nice pint in the Red Lion but it does contain some idiot locals. Not nasty, just thick.
