Posts on local forums and Facebook pages by relatives of people testing positive suggest that the figures are in the right region. Roughly now equates to 18 positive tests from people who were at the pub plus 3 contacts of people who were at the pub.
Not to mention 4 of the girls in the pub that are now posative, that then a, few days after went to the cinema with other (uninfected, at the time) friends...

*sigh*

Walk in testing station on Crown St carpark all day today. Looks like we’re in for a “spike”.
Crown & Anchor closed while they review their social distancing arrangements & have a clean. Just in case anyone was thinking of popping in while they wait for test results.

Swan & Red Lion in Stone have closed until the Covid outbreak is sorted. Poste of Stone (Wetherspoons) is remaining open.

This is from comments to an article about Stone pubs having to close due to the idiots at the Crown and Anchor on Stokeontrentlive.

Somewhat missing the point isn't it?

There is actually an hint of hypocrisy in all of this, don't get me wrong, I think it's ridiculous that this has been allowed to happen, and I think it's right that everyone should be wearing masks. However, all of these people in the beer garden, which is also the smoking area, are being condemned for simply breathing out. I get that your possibly inhaling a deadly virus, if some are infected, but why isn't everyone creating about the passive cigarette smoke that is being inhaled. This can be equally as deadly to people. I suppose it's referred to a more social way of catching a deadly disease, isn't it.

We didn't get where we are today by not missing the point.

It's not many months since I was last told that there's no proof of a link between smoking and lung cancer...

The Public are largely beyond help.

When I saw that in the original post, I genuinely thought it said Stokeretentive, which might be a better name.

I’m not sure if this has been mentioned before but looking at the pictures of the people in Stone Crown St car park, queuing up to get tested did get me thinking.
If you were queuing up with 100 other people who had been in that pub and may have Coronavirus, what would you do?
Wear a mask, keep a distance? Or just stand really close to everyone else and not wear a mask?

I’m wondering if in about 10 days time there will be another spike in Stone and this announcement will go out.

“If anyone was in the queue to get tested for Coronavirus on 29th July in Stone, or if you’ve been in contact with anyone in that queue, could you please come and join a queue tomorrow to get tested.”

Passive cigarette smoke is not "equally as deadly to people" according to a study that finds no link between secondhand smoke and lung cancer.
