Went to the Downs Banks today with my niece, my Great niece and my Great great nieces, yes I’m really that old.
Haven’t seen any of them since before lockdown so this was a lovely way to get together to walk the dogs, catch up and have a picnic.

I’m posting a picture because the Mum has already put it on Facebook herself. (Otherwise Id be wary of posting pictures of other people’s children)
They found one of those hidden painted stones, much excitement.

I had Great great nieces before I was 25. Gawd knows what I have now at 56!

I'm feeling not normal now ....I'm 64 and only have a 24 year old son. Hoping to see grandchildren sometime in my lifetime ....

When son was doing his uni dissitation he had to interview the locals. His mates ''really old Great gran'' was one of them , and I was imagining a little old lady with her long bloomers , curlers and hair net (as I remember my gran ). Then found out this really old great granny was about 10 years younger than me :o

Feeling super refreshed and in a much better frame of mind this morning after doing my bit last night to help the economy get back on it's feet.
Our first visit to a pub for a meal and several drinks since before lockdown.
Rather apprehensive at our spur of the moment decision to phone the pub and venture out .
But met at the door at the Wildwood and taken to our pre-booked table by a window. Plenty of space between tables and felt quite safe in there (fingers crossed I don't get a call from Track & Trace now !). Hand sanitiser on their table at entrance , and on each individual table.
After downloading the App expecting to be ordering via the App for table service, was told that the app has been causing them lots of problems so had to go to the bar and order drinks and meals at the bar as normal. (Was surprised they had the usual menus on the tables though, and not fresh paper versions I'm sure was advertised on one of the sizzling emails....or was that spoons doing that? )
Fantastic meal this time , served on metal plates instead of usual wooden sizzling platter, and slightly adapted menu. Cutlery and condiments brought to the table, along with a Track & Trace form to fill in. Filled both that in and did it on the app as well.
Some of the staff wearing face masks.

Drinks were good and haven't even got the usual hangover after 6 pints ( tasted so good it was going down rather too well !)

From last nights experience in The Wildwood , would dare to visit again :)

Enjoying a drop of red.
Lovely walk on the beach this morning. Only an 8 mile stroll as it was starting to get a bit warm. The plan was to chuck the bikes on the car this afternoon and go for a ride in the Forest of Bowland but it's going to be too hot to make it enjoyable so we'll probably have another beach walk again. Should be a stiffer breeze this afternoon to make a decent walk possible.

I mentioned yesterday that while out on Downs Banks my great great nieces (twins) found one of those painted stones.
On the back it asked you to take a picture and put it on Facebook which my niece did.

She found out today that it was hidden by twins.
So hidden by twins and found by twins! What are the chances of that?

It's flying ant day!
Flying Ant Day has arrived to the west.

It may be different due to the variation in bank holidays, it's still the first Monday of August here?

Anyway, it's not really much of an issue, as we have highly trained and competent staff on hand to apply adequate countermeasures.

I’m struggling to do the maths on this one.

Is one of your siblings much older than you and had a child even before you were born?

Dad was married twice, he and the first Mrs G had 4 children. 1 girl, 3 boys. She had already had a daughter before her and Dad met. Making it 5 in total. The youngest of which was 21 when I was born way back in 1963.
All were married and apart from the 2 of the lads, had children. I think 2 of my nieces were close to 10 & 11 when I came into the world. They both married and had kids and therefore I became a Great Aunt. So, by the time I was getting married myself, their children had grown up and were courting.

Certainly by the age of 23 when I had my daughter I had at least 2 great nieces and maybe a nephew.
I'm No7 of 8, middle of 3 girls.

I'm 56, had the 4, 3 boys and a girl. 37-36-32 & 29.
I have no hope of ever having Grandchildren. Not one of mine want babies.

Friends over the road have had a new patio and outdoor furniture, so, keen to show it off they’ve invited us over for a look see and offered to feed us/bbq, and imbibe us with alcohol.
It was meant to be Saturday night but brought forward to tonight because of the “beautiful weather forecast”.

I’ve got showered, made myself look effortlessly gorgeous, ready to go and looked outside.

Sky very dark, started raining, typical.

.Edited, it’s stopped so we’re good to go!!

Mildly sunburnt earlier but rain has now set in here, but that's Wales for you!

Son has to find himself the right girl first , after a few let downs....time yet ...... I was 26 when we got married .

Taking notice of old Boris. Eyebrows plucked and in the pub again to boost the economy ( any excuse).
Just had another equally enjoyable meal to last night :)

Went to our friends house tonight for a BBQ but the phone that I’d taken with me started buzzing almost immediately.

An 88 year old lady in the village that I keep an eye on keeps falling. Thursday when I took her a hot meal round there was an ambulance in attendance but she was ok and stayed at home. People were contacting me tonight because they knew I kept an eye out for her, they had seen an another ambulance, this time a blue light, I did go round but she wasn’t there, so presume she’s gone to hospital. I’ll find out more tomorrow.

We did end up having a lovely evening, we sat out in the garden and chatted until about 11.00pm.

Today, for logistical reasons, I have had to talk to humans rather more than I have done over the last four months.

Most of my conversations over that period have been with robins, blackbirds and crows.

Having to use human language to this extent has given me quite a sore throat.

don't mention the blinds
So as you slid in between the sheets a certain Mr D. Essex was there to greet you, lovingly you look into one anothers eyes. Caressing and nibbling at lips gets you both warmed up and inevitably flesh is getting closer and definitely more intense. You and Davy are going to get it on .....finally, so without further delay you respond in the only way you can ...

Zzz Zzz Zzz.....

This morning at 07.30hrs, I finished a night shift. It was the 6th I have done this week. If I don't get offered a bed after that I never will x
