I did miss going to the pub during lockdown but I enjoyed my own safety more.

As for wellbeing going to a proper pub, it's great to catch up with friends again but the anxiety of trying to get people to social distance properly doesn't do anyone's wellbeing any good.

Thus I'm only going to the pub when I can sit outside and be away from the idiots.

At the end of the day if it comes down to pub v schoolkids then it can only be down to those who are blatently flaunting the rules that have forced the choice to be made and I know it isn't caused by the kids.
Yes, I agree but "At the end of the day" can be a problem and pubs are usually quieter at lunchtime.

Reminds me of a comment from Lord Lew Grade when he produced the film 'Raise the Titanic' which utterly bombed at the box office. When he was told how much money the film had cost him he replied: "It would have been cheaper to lower the Atlantic."

Not necessarily but spending on education should be scrutinised more as government debt increases
And everyone's mental wellbeing must be considered, pubmen getting far more satisfaction from going to a proper pub than pupils attending a school..
Would pubmen really get far more satisfaction than children in school if they were forced to go to the pub for 6 hours a day 5 days a week though?

When I was at school, a lot of the effort put in by the service providers was devoted to stopping any socialising between service users.

I'm taking minime to her opticians appt later today. They rang yesterday to make sure we haven't got the Rona.

Instructions are to arrive 10 mind early, and you don't need to wear a face mask.

WTAF?

Why on earth would you not wear a face mask? Given how close they get to you to do the eye test?

I was offended enough last Feb when I had my eye test, as the optition had a heavy cold and continually sniffed & snorted in my face while peering at the back of my eyes.
