I can't help but think that when (or maybe I should say 'if') this business is over, such surveillance will be lessened, or at least better hidden once facemasks no longer become a requirement.

I'm not particularly bothered about the idea of electronic surveillance, but I am bothered about the uses it might be put to. That's Pandora's Box if ever there was.

Those kiosks aren’t a pandemic response, apparently they’ve been rolling them out for years

I assume it’s a reminder to people that they’re being watched to deter theft. Much in the same way Home Bargains have a cardboard copper in the window

It will be a long time before anybody surpasses that store detective that Lidl had.

Never has anybody ever been as undercover as he was.

Personally I thought the Walther P38s in two shoulder holsters was a dead giveaway. :heyhey:

I currently have an overwhelming desire for Spam fritters.
Gosh, haven't had them for years. Got me fancying them now!

Few minutes of panic whilst parking up for my beauty salon appointment. Car died as I was manoeuvring across the road towards the parking spot , and engine refused to even try to turn over. Sitting straddled across the middle , blocking both ways was just about to get out and try pushing it uphill into the parking space when one final turn of the key fired it up again. Phew!
And of course the £80 quick start unit I'd bought for such emergencies was sitting nicely on the shelf at home ( now in the car where it should be)

Had an unplanned enjoyable longer ride back home via the Chase roads to give it a good charge up .

Thinking just typical....lost count of the number of times I've helped push broken down cars over the years, yet the one time I need a knight in shining armour there's none about.

Needed to go into Eccy so a quick detour into the Co-Op. Spam sourced, fritters done, my dream turned into reality.
Odd how we yearn for crap occasionally.

I remember I was once sent on a shopping mission to bring something tasty back for our evening meal and returned with a tin of spam as a joke as well as the ingredients for a special meal.

Needless to say the special meal was deferred to the next evening and spam fritters were cooked that very evening :)

You lot need to go to South Korea, where you can buy special Holiday Gift Sets.
