All venues big or small will need to attract customers to survive. ...
Basil,
And I wasn't suggesting otherwise, but a street corner local run by a couple with no employees years ago or a one-man-band micropub closed every Monday nowadays could or can be very efficient.

Sorry - I'm in Warrington!

But if you ever fancy visiting this shithole I very much recommend the Parr Arms: http://theparrarms.co.uk/

A work colleague, when I was based in Crewe, used to live in Warrington and kept trying to tempt us to a night out in said "shithole". We went a few times and then reverted to my suggestions of Nantwich or Manchester.

I can confirm Warrington town centre is officially the shittest of all shitholes in the world for a shit night out.

I don't recall the Parr Arms so is it new or out of the town centre somewhere?

Parr Arms is outside the town centre towards Stockton Heath. Its nice but not worth a visit to Warrington for!

I see it has improved somewhat since I knew it in the 1970s & 80s

The town centre may look a little jazzier but can confirm the rest is just plain shit.

I've just called into Thawa Bridge for an impromptu takeaway and Abdul advised me that he is doing the Eat Out to Help Out half price food on Wednesdays in September and October.

Sounds good to me :)

That's great news. I love Thawa Bridge and Abdul. A genuinely really nice guy.

And before I get asked I have no personal interest in Thawa Bridge other than I love their food and through my regular visits have now become a friend of Abduls. I am not Abduls secret love child. Honest!
