Been doing our bit to help The Trentham Monkey Forest and Twycross Zoo survive . Had a great time , especially at the monkey forest :monkey: .
Abandoned plans to eat out in Twycross zoo though , finding 2 smallish take-out portions of fish and chips would knock us back £18.50 and an extra 6 quid for a couple of cuppas.
Back to taking our own picnics next time!

I saw this character hanging around at the side of the Isabel Trail.

Initially, I did wonder if she might be injured, as she made no effort at all to maintain a distance from me.

Further investigation seemed to reveal that she was really just remarkably confident.

During our discussions, she noticed a suitable worm had appeared from under her apple, and she sauntered across to deal with it.

That may have been the plan, to appear unconcerned, lulling the worm into a sense of false security.

I have a storage unit up by the university and popped by it the other day. It seems we have a pirate radio station broadcasting within Radio 2’s frequency up that way. Very brazen, what with the Police Station being located up there. Unsure what style of music it was, I know it wasn’t country music.

I just had a hunt around for that, but failed to find any reception here.

However, it does mean that you are in very serious trouble - you caused me to listen to several seconds of Jeremy Vine.

There will be severe retribution.

Fifty five years ago, there was a short sketch in Round the Horne.

Phone rings.
"Hello, BBC."
"Ah, would you be Jimmy Young?"
"Certainly not! Would you?"
"No. Not for a million pounds!"

And here we are, with it still going on...

Enjoying a drop of red.
If you were stuck in queue on the A41 at about 4.30 today just before Whitchurch then I can only apologise. The fuel pump decided to no longer pump fuel. Much attempted bodgery wouldn't fix the bugger. Just before ringing Britannia, I decided to give it a blow with a hammer and it sprang back into life.

I need a drink.

Hm... where did you hear it? What stretch of Beaconside?

Gurly and her fiance are having a posh (read large) lunch in Manchester today. Stopping with us tonight and have requested tinned beans with sausages in, on toast for tea.
Seems it's not just me.
Ooooh I love them but haven't had them for years. Beans on toast is my favourite meal, but those little sausages make it , yum yum yum ! Might add some of those to my bag of supplies for son when we go down to stay at his tonight .

Afternoon out planned in Worcester for me & hubby , followed by a Pie & Mash meal booked for the 3 of us in a good Real Ale Pub tonight. Leaving son to plan the rest of the night for us . Should be a nice ending to the fortnights holiday :)

There might be too much fly tipping going on for the police to be concerned about a pirate radio station.

Up early this morning to take the fuel pump off the car and strip it down, as I could do with running the car reliably over the course of the weekend. Everything seemed to be working as it should so just gave it all a thorough clean up before putting it back.

Sun's out, tide going out so off for a walk on the beach in an hour or so. Grass to cut first though.
