What's for dinner/tea?

Yes, I know that’s it’s in Formby which why I assumed you were in Formby and not Scotland.
Which is why I asked where you stay when you are in Formby.
I made an incorrect assumption that you were in your RV.

I didn’t realise until about 10 minutes ago that you’d got a house there.
We sandwiched our visit to Scotland in between spending the rest of the school holidays in Formby. Formby is handy for one of Mrs ps shops and, when such things were still allowed, a 15 minute train ride from Anfield.

Wheat in the flavourings contained in ping rice
All of it?

What a strange thing to do to rice.

I know someone who developed a gluten allergy later in life (late 40's), and they suffered quite considerably until it was diagnosed, so i'm not dismissive of the phenomenon, it's just that as much it fits - terrible gut pains she was feeling - it also doesn't. Just how much wheat can they cram in to a packet of rice? Probably not as much as fits in yer average sausage roll.

Allergic reaction to rice is remarkably rare, wheat less so.

The answer to all of our problems is just three syllables away -

Ping/microwave rice is not gluten free, that's what I ate. Plain Basmati rice doesn't make me feel ill.

However, yesterday I ate homemade sausage rolls with no ill effect. Maybe it's just a strange pasta & rice thing.
I have no problem with gluten etc & we eat a lot of rice (we buy basmati in 20 kg packs). However when we eat rice at “a family member’s” I often end up with stomach pains ( like trapped wind). It’s only the rice, & I don’t eat it there anymore. I suspect she buys cheap rice & maybe doesn’t wash it thoroughly. I’ve tried Aldi ping rice & sometimes get slight problems with that. It’s probably more likely to be down to the processing than any gluten etc.

It sounds just the same as me - very strange, if I have plain Basmati rice I'm fine (although I can never eat much) it just seems to be ping rice, pasta and certain breads, the carer makes flatbreads and I'm fine with that, but any shop bought loaf causes pain & a very sicky feeling.

I wonder if it's the coating they put on it to stop it sticking together. It's the same on ready grated cheese.

Pepsi max chicken.

All good until I realised there's only me in the house. Ones working late, ones out with friends. Hope they like it cold.
