Apparently vegan wines have a lot less. I noticed some wine in Aldi a month or so back that was marketed as low sulphites.

I always get a runny nose, but have been hyper aware that I start to cough after a drink nowadays. I probably always have but in these times...

I never get an issue abroad, I think they must put it in as a preservative.

It seems to be just Crabbies ginger beer or red wine for me, although I don't like red wine so that's not such a problem.

It only used to happen if I bought the Crabbies in the local shop but not from supermarkets, so I had put it down to being dodgy stock.

But this was from the supermarket, the lure of ginger beer mixed with rhubarb was too much temptation.

I've got to say, it didn't taste of ginger beer or rhubarb, and it smelt like fireballs!

Gosh , hope the rash dies down soon for you .

That's rather scary reading, I'll have to start reading labels a bit more carefully .

Just looked up Strongbow and that has sulphites in as well. Glad I decided to give cider up ...... lasted 16 days booze free so far , as well as healthy eating and lots of fruit and veg , lost some weight and feeling so much better already. (Nibbling my way through an apple is still like a bushtucker trial though ! )
Nearly all bottles of wine have sulphites.

Well hacked off with Wickes. Bought a folding workbench back in April, the threads are buggered on the clamping mechanism and because I don't have the receipt they don't want to know about a replacement or exchange. I even said that I was happy to trade up to a sturdier model but still no joy.
P*ss*d off.

This irritates me greatly as I know epos systems. 10 years I tested epos systems, not Wickes specifically but I know One View products who supply them. This is my experience, if I was working in New Look or Halfords or Go Outdoors or Pets At Home. You told me what you bought and when, I can find the sale. If you paid by card, I can find the sale. It is purely policy stopping this, even then a return without a receipt is absolutely available.

Where I work we used to be able to look up a transaction (using epos) using your bank/credit/debit card or loyalty card details, it brings up a list of transaction dates, then items bought on that transaction.

We are no longer allowed to use card details at customer service because of GDPR, however we can still use a loyalty card to look up a transaction. If you used any kind of *loyalty card try asking them to look it up using that. On very few occasions I believe if you push hard enough to speak to a manager, they 'could' still look up the purchase using your bank card.

*no idea if Wicks use any kind of loyalty card.

According to the Consumer Rights Act you don’t need a receipt if you have a faulty product as long as you have some other proof of payment such as a bank statement or credit card payment.
So that might be an option?

A bit late for you but a tip for others......we have a box that we keep in the office with receipts and guarantees.
Within the box are separate clear files with titles, kitchen, bedroom, garden etc.
Every guarantee gets dated and then goes into the relevant “room” file along with the receipt.
It only takes a moment but everything is kept together and it doesn’t half make life easier when you need to find something.

Paid cash unfortunately and ignored my usual maxim 'buy cheap, buy twice'.
Just won't give them any more of my money.

A little frustrated with my conveyancing solicitors. Over 2 weeks ago they told us when prompted they were going to review enquiries. Chased them today and they inform is that they will review enquiries this week. If I could cut my losses and move it all as it stands to a new solicitors I would.

I think legally you don't even need proof of purchase under the Consumer Rights Act for faulty goods but I may be wrong.

I'm as guilty as the next person for losing receipts. Probably not so important in recent times due to everything going on plastic, either Debit or Credit.
