According to the Consumer Rights Act you don’t need a receipt if you have a faulty product as long as you have some other proof of payment such as a bank statement or credit card payment.
So that might be an option?

A bit late for you but a tip for others......we have a box that we keep in the office with receipts and guarantees.
Within the box are separate clear files with titles, kitchen, bedroom, garden etc.
Every guarantee gets dated and then goes into the relevant “room” file along with the receipt.
It only takes a moment but everything is kept together and it doesn’t half make life easier when you need to find something.

I do this too!

The couple who purchased our house were a little overwhelmed when I managed to produce receipts and handbooks for every white good and electronic left behind!

I still have that receipt from our romantic date at The Greyhound. Quite an unusual signature you had

Then I read it backwards ..

And me.

I've got a copy of all the house purchase documents from 39 years ago , as well as all the receipts and instructions for Windows, doors, kitchen fitting etc as well as shower, fire, cooker, boiler and anything else we still have in the house that works. I

Got them all in a folder , with my easy to understand additional operating instructions , for when I pop my clogs .

Got all the banking , insurance policies , bills etc in order in files as well.( Want to make it easier to sort out things than when I was doing my parents estate )

This is why I like Jancinda Adams and Katrín Jakobsdóttir, PM's of New Zealand and Iceland. The fact is women are much better at organizing things, much better than men (who just want to shoot the shit out of everything.) Looking at these earthquake clips, all the proof I need they should be running the world.

Of course if they fail, I'll shoot the pair of them ... :P

Mooching about the house this morning putting back those clocks that don't self adjust I had a sudden urge to put them all forward by 5 months and get well clear of 2020.
Ahh if only time travel were that easy .... :P

Of course going forward in time is inherently dangerous (although theoretically quite possible.) You don't have any idea at base level what you're stepping into (be seriously bad luck if you stepped to a point beneath a large incoming asteroid just as it hit. )

Going back in time you might have some idea what you're going to see, until the paradoxes kick in at least.

I got most confused in the early hours, with hubby putting some clocks back the night before, and leaving the others til the morning. The one automatically changing scientific clock in the bedroom projects the time onto the ceiling. Lay there not being able to sleep, watching it approach 2am and expecting it to go back to 1am...... went onto 2.02am without changing, so I was doubting whether it was 2.02 pre clocks going back or they had already gone back and now reaching 2.02am for the second time. My clock actually changed back at 2.04am, seconds after I'd taken my eyes off it

I can't think of anything much more likely of keeping me awake, than watching the time tick by on the ceiling!

Never been able to sleep much , even as a kid. Used to sit looking out of the window for hours (Thought I saw a UFO once in the 60's , no-one believed me, but then in the weekly paper was an article of a copper sitting in his patrol car in Silkmore Lane that same night reporting seeing something like a UFO .....parents still didn't believe me! )
Nowadays watching the seconds ticking away on the ceiling, until it's time for hubby to stop snoring and get up for work, keeps me occupied for hours.

Just don't get how people can just close their eyes and go to sleep straight away for hours !
