I'm not a huge follower- and a lot of you will know more than me.

But it seems to me there's a change in manager and a huge change in players every season

How is the club ever meant to settle?? how is the "board" behind the scenes?? are they part of the problem- or are they the solution? - bad times for the rangers but at least it's still there so there's that.

Last season we finished bottom of the league so there was a need this season for a new manager and to build a better squad. Some of last seasons squad have remained.

In preseason things were looking very good, the team assembled by the new manager was playing well and we were winning games, however we've not been able to do it in the league. 7 games in, no league wins and only 1 goal scored by our own player. I don't think this team is too far away from being a good team, however we desperately need an experienced striker.

The last few management appointments have not gone well. The directors need to get the next one right or else fans may start to ask serious questions about whether we've got the right people in charge.

Sorry to hijack this thread.

If you want to get involved at Stafford Rangers, we could certainly use your services to improve the ground.
So as not to hijack the Stafford Riverlink thread any further, I'll respond here.

It's been great to see some of the improvements done in the last few years (Chairman's suite, Shed End, car park resurfacing).

What sort of realistic ground improvements are Stafford Rangers looking at next?

There are a number of projects that I would like to see done. In no particular order:

Reterrace the social club end
Update the office reception area
Renovate the home and away changing rooms
Convert the Portacabin in the car park to a hospitality / marketing suite.
New players tunnel

As well as the above, work has started on building a new cantilever stand on the social club end. A full suite of structural drawings have been prepared and some fundraising has taken place.

As well as the projects you mentioned, I and a few fans have also renovated the press box and created a new fans bar under the main stand. I was one of the fans that worked on bringing back the shed end as well.

The need for community and supporting each other raises its head again.
If you have a club or association and need to raise revenue please consider having a look at the lottery partnership where your organisation could earn 50% of what you pay in each month. Sign a number of people up under your group, get your cause registered and get the commission back periodically.
Or you could just join as an individual for the sake of £5 a month and have the chance of winning up to £500!
All that while helping raise funds for the infrastructure of a community club.

BRAVE NEW WORLD FOR BRILLIANT BORO’!
May 14, 2021Club News

I am thrilled to be able to announce a major change in the way in which our great club will be run in future which brings the fans close to the centre of decision making. During the pandemic, a small group of dedicated staff and supporters including Mark Alcock, Sally-Ann Ashby, Al Gee, Paul Griffiths and John Macmillan under the able leadership of David Montgomery, have worked tirelessly to bring in much needed funds, raise the club’s profile and keep fans informed and have provided much needed support to the board.

The board have therefore decided that, in recognition of their efforts and in the best interests of the football club, the group, under the title of Borough Development Group, will become a formal part of the club’s governance structure. The detailed way it will work is set out in an organogram which you can access here but, in outline, the board will task the BDG with responsibility for delivering a range of projects which either the board or the BDG will have originated.

The first members of the BDG will be the original pandemic group but, with board approval, they will be inviting new people to join them either permanently or for specific tasks. You will see from the organogram that one of the major functions of the BDG is to have regular consultations with fans who will have the right to elect one member of the BDG. The BDG also has the right to nominate up to three people for appointment as directors of the club. I am delighted to say that their first two nominees – John Macmillan, our long-serving Company Secretary and Oz Rowley our Operations Manager who is responsible for all matters relating to stadium safety as well as being the manager of our highly successful development squad – will join the board with immediate effect.

The third BDG nominated directorship will remain vacant for the time being. To complete the integration of the BDG into the governance structure, Andy Fearn our Director of Football who is also a successful businessman, will join the BDG wearing his commercial rather than his football hat.

The next step will be to agree a set of projects for the BDG to get its teeth into, but likely candidates are to help maximise commercial opportunities at the Football Club and Social Club; developing the website and other club media; and communications generally. And there are also longer term issues requiring longer term solutions such as what will the ground look like in the future and how will improvements be paid for. If you have the skills needed for any of these tasks and would like to get involved, please email either John Macmillan at john.macmillan@staffordrangersfc.co.uk or David Montgomery at david.montgomery@ggcltd.com.

This is a very exciting time for the club. I wish the BDG under the continuing chairmanship of David Montgomery and the new directors all the very best for the future and look forward to working with them all for the greater benefit of our beloved Boro’.
