Why did Boris' vaccine speech about the cavalry being over the hill instantly make me think of Jona Lewie's stop the cavalry?

Apart from I don't really wish to be at home for Christmas, well not all of it anyway :)

We'll be very lucky if the vaccine is available in significant quantity before Christmas.

I predict that the lockdown will be lifted on or about the 2nd December as Barmy Boris & the Buffoons wouldn't want to be remembered as the ones who cancelled Christmas & the New Year. Expect a new lockdown to be imposed early January because of the large number of cases arising as a result of Christmas and the New Year.

I can't see a 3rd lockdown in the new year if a vaccine is being distributed to venerable populations. I'd imagine they will tell venerable populations to avoid people as much as possible until they receive said vaccine and tell everyone else hands face space until the 30 million at possible risk are largely vaccinated.

They can't let it be a free for all at Christmas, I'd expect mixing to be still 2 or 3 households.

Ffs, a friend I went walking with has now had positive test so I have to self isolate. As someone with no local family this is hugely problematic. My dog can't now get walks for 2 weeks , I can't get out to buy food and that's before we consider my mental health from total isolation. It's the very worst of times. I mean is it really possible to catch outside in fresh air with no close contact?

This thing is so rife half of my work colleagues are ill with it or self isolating due to contact. We all work in different offices and are not cross contaminating each other, it's all caught and exposed outside of work. My boss will soon have no staff left to manage!

Are catholics top priority for vaccination?

Common sense thing to do would be to end the lockdown with everywhere in tier 3 till 2nd January but with relaxed household mixing. It would be pointless going through this lockdown & then opening hospitality for Christmas.

I think online food delivery slots are available but are becoming increasing hard to get hold of. During lockdown 1 the COOP were doing local deliveries if you phones through your order. Can you work from home during your isolation?

Yeah I've been wfh since March. It's just very lonely!

My mates will shop for me but the dog is just going to have to isolate with me and this isn't great as he's big bouncy. No one I trust to take him out really as he has 'qwirks'

Of course, a vaccine would be brilliant, but I wouldn't be so sure about trusting Pfizer. I read this, this morning & I'm no anti-vaxer, but have personal experience after one of the drugs that I was on was withdrawn after causing mental health issues, depression & suicides...

Will you all jump straight at the chance of the vaccine, I'm interested to hear people's thoughts...

In France we can't travel more than 1,000 metres or we explode

The vaccine has to be stored at minus 2 million years bc otherwise it turns to jello

In a suitcase

In the fog

Where does this come from?

I would imagine all the drug companies have a similar litany of issues throughout their history. As for would I take the vaccine, well it's not available yet, not been signed off as effective or safe yet and if/when it is I'll be way down the queue of those eligible to have it, so there's a way to go before a decision has to be made, so we shall see.

It was a post on Facebook, it wouldn't let me copy it, hence the screenshots.

However, the person posting it has had very different views throughout covid from mine. She totally believes no one should have to wear a mask or keep 2 metres apart, or be locked down at all.

Doesn't drug testing usually go on for years before general release?

Well..... just had to do a big food shop and zoom off down the motorway with it. Son who lives alone had run his cupboards , fridge and freezer right down and planning to go food shopping on Monday , the first day of his weeks holiday.... Now he's in isolation !

He'd felt flu-ish, but assumed it was a bad cold or flu which had been going around his works. Had a message when he finished work on sunday night that someone he'd worked with on friday had tested positive. He had a test yesterday just incase so that he could rule Covid out, so didn't go shopping incase he had it and planned to go today once the negative result came through.... Text results this morning.....POSITIVE !

Symptoms...... Felt rough and knackered all last week, but put that down to working long shifts. (Kept saying he thought he was coming down with something)
Couldn't stand the water in the shower hitting his skin on Sunday , as said was painful.
Coughing and congested .
Bad head and feeling 'flu-ish' .
From Today......woke up with no sense of smell or taste at all, as well as his cough and feeling rough.

Rang him to let him know I was outside , but left the shopping bags outside his front door. Stood the other side of the road with my mask on while he was taking the bags in with his mask on. Then jumped back in the car and zoomed back down the motorway.

Me & hubby not seen him for a couple of months , so know we haven't been in contact to catch it off him. Just a case of whether we have caught it from my once weekly food shops (I disinfect everything that comes through the door though). Or from our walk on the Chase on Saturday when it was difficult to distance from the hoards of people over there that day.

Got our tests for people who haven't got symptoms tomorrow at the Kingston Centre to see if we have it or not......

Stocked up on more milk for us as well whilst doing sons shopping . Can't do without my cuppas if we end up isolating after tomorrows results as well !
