Regarding the vaccine, I'll take it when scientists who don't stand to make money from it's use say it's safe. I don't really care for what the government say.

This is only if it stops transmission, not just infection.

Hope he recovers okay.
Thanks @Lucy Bit worrying when he's on his own and so far away.

My mate up the road was bad with it for 11 days to start with, and only then started with breathing difficulties. Had to call an ambulance and spend a week in Stoke hospital. Still felt bad and had a cough for months after that. (Only in her 40's as well )

Ah. Sorry but I simply do not believe ANYTHING on farcebook or twatter. It's all either I'll informed rubbish at best, or deliberately trying to misinform or terrify.
I understand that, and as I said, her views are somewhat different to mine. But, I was a taker of one of Pfizer drugs (called Champix in the UK) that caused lots of people lots of horrible problems. I was contacted by several companies (probably to make them selves some money) and asked to fill in surveys about it. I didn't bother as I was no more psychologically disturbed and suicidal than any other hormonal woman trying to give up smoking.

I was sent an antibody test - i was invited, by snail mail, to enlist - it was part of the React malarkey by Ipsos and Imperial. The letter came, as if by owl, just after i'd gone for the test @ the Kingston Centre referenced ^ op cit, ie late Sept. One suspects the invitation was linked to being open to testing.

I was rather convinced that i had had it back in February - sick as a pike, strangely fatigued, feeling most unusual. Conceivable transmission vector via northern Italy, some times removed, to boot.

Finger prick blood test came back negative for short or long term reactants. Tbf i'd been pretty much a recluse from the end of March, and had been taking shit seriously since the start of it. I did not eat out to help out, and have been a very good boy in general.

Interestingly the antibody test i took was > 6 months after i thought i'd had it - so i'm not totally convinced i've not already had it. I'm not confident that immunity will be long-lived, it is not evidenced in any of the other coronaviruses already out there. Having said that, some time ago i heard that those exposed to SARS-CoV-1 had an immunity response more than ten years after infection.

What we really should have is a 'So who's had Covid' thread so that we can throw real examples into dickhead's faces. I think we've been quite lucky here, and the Mexican Wave that has stalled in the North is finally wooing crowds down here.

My Attorney had it in August - flu-like body cramps + lost his sense of taste (there's a joke in there somewhere?) - only just coming back now but still feels a bit weird -

My neighbour also was quite ill, flu-like, really bad, but is now sort-of 90%.

Unfortunately we now appear to live in an age where nothing is truly happening unless it is happening to ME, NOW.

Perhaps there should be a Covid TripAdvisor

1 star - would give less if possible, terrible, would not recommend

Less than 24 hours for a result. I must have a week chest and picking up a cold affects it, as it's negative.

I agree that far too many people don't believe it if it hasn't happened to them. 2 colleagues have lost family, and an ex colleague is now in a wheelchair due to it. That'll do for me.

I think I would take the vaccine. I feel like it will be at least 2 years of restrictions/rolling lock downs. From day one we have been told there are three ways out of this, herd immunity, vaccine or a mutation to less virulent form
