Public transport only has two significant problems.

1, The public.

2, The transport.

the public in general

I've found a solution to my problems, go at silly time in morning or at night then I avoid

1) Most of the public that seem to move closer to me, instead of moving away from me
2) a lot less cars around

Avoid the Lemming Runs.

One of my Golden Rules.

i did a check on using public transport to get to work (when in the office) for an 8 mile journey it involves 2 mile walk to the nearest bus stop 5 miles on the bus then another 1 mile walk. Also it had to be the night before as there are no buses early enough so would have to sleep outside work. Then after work do it in reverse, have Dinner and set out again for ready for tomorrow.

What kind of lockdown is this?

Pretty much same amount of cars on the road, ( a bit less prime time traffic)

I can't work out where everyone is going! What is there to go to apart from work for those who can't wfh?

It isn't a lockdown according to the government. It's "extreme national measures".

Puzzles me too, the majority of my neighbours don't work, yet they're out for hours at a time (I've only noticed as I'm on annual leave) .... Its a mystery... :mystery:

I was out driving to my Covid Test in Fairway just. (Would have walked there for exercise if it was just me,but hubby was using his lunch break so had to get there and back asap.) Made the mistake of assuming the traffic was going to be light, so left some spare time to get there but didn't go massively early........ panic stations when approaching Queensville bridge to see a massive queue of cars over it. Turns out roadworks ,with 2 way lights, on main road by Queensville Avenue.
Driving back there was still lots of traffic about, and wasn't even anywhere near school kicking out time.

Got to say that traffic is a fair bit lighter on my commute to Shrewsburyish at normal commuting times. Probably about 60% of normal around Stafford and less than that near Shrewsbury. As to what is like during the day I have no idea as I don't travel then as I have no reason to during Lockdown.

Took a little jaunt to the NAEC at Stoneleigh this morning and M6 traffic was very light indeed, didn't need to use the Toll for the first time in ages. The good folk of Coventry still drive like dickheads though, so that was reassuring...

On yesterdays dash down the motorway with emergency food and medicine supplies , it was actually a dash as well as mostly just lorries on the M6/M5 (apart from a broken down wide load blocking 2 lanes by West Brom causing a bit of a jam). Not many cars, but quite a few unmarked cop cars (coming out from undercover whilst pulling several people over)

You're lucky you escaped an encounter with the long arm of the law then...

Son is in our household bubble , lives alone , is rather ill with Covid-19 and having to isolate, and didn't have any food or medicine .(Had been waiting until this week to stock up whilst on holiday, then found himself unable to go ....being responsible , he didn't nip into the shops on his way back from the testing centre as he knew he had a good chance of having it!)
I had a copy of his Positive test results received that morning on my phone. No delivery slots, so only option was for me to take some and leave outside on his doorstep.
I checked regulations and say allowed to travel for that purpose.

Sorry, you misunderstand. I wasn't having a go at you for what you did, that's perfectly understandable. Just observing that plod seem to be everywhere at the moment, well everywhere except where they are actually needed.

Is there no further need to social distance or are they simply expecting pedestrians to step out into oncoming traffic?

The barriers were hardly causing any significant hold up.
