I assume he agreed to booking one without realising? ;)
Well, it's got his boss discussing holidays with him and hubby now got some weeks booked in :D
Just hoping the holiday cottage owner replies to say she's reserved the March and April weeks for me , before anyone else nabs them....

(Was looking at September as well , but all those weeks have already gone. People must be thinking book in the later months in the hope this Covid may be on it's way out by then.)

I think September is the best month to holiday in the UK, it's warm and the weather is generally settled.

My boss isn't in today and we've already paid the deposit for our holiday. I'm sure it will be fine....

We went in September last year and the weather was great.

We booked for April next year (which I don't think will happen) and then tried for August or September but everything we looked at ws already fully booked.

Had confirmation we are booked in, so covid permitting we have a couple of March/April hols to look forwards to. It's a nice comfy house all to ourselves , so as long as we can get out for some walks and hopefully out for a few pub meals , we shall be happy. (2 Bedrooms as well, so can lock hubby and his snoring away behind a closed door if needed :D )

Given up on holidays abroad for a couple of years. Must have jinxed last Junes Portugal holiday. First ever holiday to be cancelled, and first ever time in 40 years that we'd booked a holiday in Hubbys name.

Bookings for the campsite we stay at in Scilly opened today for next year. Normally wouldn't book this early but want something to look forward to!
Where do you stay on Scilly @Lucy ? Thought about you whilst watching a TV program featuring them .

Did you see the City Life to Country Life programme? That was on Bryher, we stay on St Martin's now, although we used to go to St Mary's which is the biggest island.
Hubbys recorded the City Life to Country Life programmes....still to watch them yet.

We were watching the Scilly Isles on ' Devon and Cornwall ' . There were several episodes featuring different islands of Scilly . Looked like it could be a different and nice relaxing holiday (although I'd have to learn to travel lighter if we have to leave the car on the mainland... )

Just suggested to hubby doing a fortnights holiday in the summer. A stay in Penzance, in a hotel I've spotted which does Isle of Scilly parking, few days over in St Mary's , then Cornwall and Devon stays on the way back. Never seen him so excited :D He's very interested in places I've just quickly shown him , so looks like we may possibly be visiting pastures new :)

In September 2018 I had three nights in Penzance and a day on St Marys and really enjoyed it.

Good luck finding anywhere to stay, you might get lucky though. Let me know if I can help in any way, we've been going for 11 years and our first time was a day trip over.

If you go on the ferry you can take 25kg and luggage will get delivered to your accommodation, it costs a couple to quid. Then you can book for them to pick it up on your day of departure.

With our new much bigger tent I'm not sure we're going to fit everything in the car, as long as we can get it to the ferry we won't see it again til it gets off a little boat at St Martin's to be loaded on the campsite tractor.

Thanks @Lucy . Going to spend some time looking into it tomorrow . Useful to know about being able to have luggage delivered to accommodation as well.

That could be a plan as well if we can't find accommodation this time, have a day trip over to see what it's like for future holidays.

Yes, plenty can be discovered on a day trip.
I got to the Atlantic, Bishop and Wolf, Mermaid and Scillonian Club and still had time to see Harold Wilson's bungalow and grave on my way over to the Old Town Inn.
Highly recommended but it's a flat bottomed boat so advisable to go on a calm day and sit on the deck not inside.
